That's actually pretty cool. The PS3 is and will remain to be an extremely valuable system to have due to the absolutely amazing lineup of exclusives.
I'm keeping my PS3 for Demon Souls, Dark Souls 1 & 2, and GTA V. Plus I have all those PS+ games I downloaded. I wonder what the new model will look like.

Looks like a kitchen grill to me.
Misleading image, that's actually the "Super Slim" that launched a few months ago. I guess there isn't actually a picture of the new design yet.

I think Sony are going to release a cheaper to produce legacy system of some kind.

I would actually buy one if console prices weren't still so utterly ridiculous. Even second hand PS3's go for $200+ where I live - what kind of a sick joke is that? It's a 7 year old piece of hardware! I keep seeing these new versions being released and yet the price is always either the same or HIGHER than the last one... I wanted to find one just to play The Last Of Us, but I've given up as the prices are simply stupid. I think I'll just buy a 'broken' console (red light maybe) and repair it myself...

Hope it looks MUCH better aswell this time. The super slim was nice, but this one is ugly as fuck. A bit flimsy aswell from what I've been told.
I'll still keep my first gen fat just in case I need something to bludgeon someone to death with.

When horizontally oriented, the sliding of the top sounds really plastic-y, but that's it really. Not to mention the size difference between the Slim and SS is huge.
i dunno how much i like the looks of it. but it is certainly cool considering how small they managed to get it especially in comparison to the original ps3
Oh man, that PS3 looks baller and I still have my fatass one.
hey guys, there will probably be no visual difference between this and the current super slim, also the picture in the shacknews/kotaku story is of the current super slim
Will this one re-enable backward compatibility?
Wait, Dark Souls 2 is on the PS3?
Wait, Dark Souls 2 is on the PS3?
It's coming to PS3, 360, and PC in March next year.
It's coming to PS3, 360, and PC in March next year.
Ah. I was kind of looking forward to a next-gen Dark Souls, but this works too.
Ah. I was kind of looking forward to a next-gen Dark Souls, but this works too.
Same. But I'l be getting it on the PC, and PS3 because why not, since this time they're developing it for PC and then porting it to the PS3 and 360.
Is the disc drive on yours really loud?
Compared to the Slim, yes, but it really doesn't bother me unless it's one of those games that keeps revving it up for half a second, stopping, revving it, and stopping again.
This is good news for me since I plan to get a PS3 for the Last of Us / tons of other stuff- will probably make other models dirt cheap
Compared to the Slim, yes, but it really doesn't bother me unless it's one of those games that keeps revving it up for half a second, stopping, revving it, and stopping again.
Mine just like to start revving and then never stop.

Another ps3 console in the making again... they got a ps4 to work on or its another team doing it but my biggest question is why though ? It can still get money but not much since alot are pre ordering the ps4 and some are doing the xbox one.

I'd get a PS3 when when the current ones are 75% of a yet to be releaseds PS4, I can't justify it. I hope they continue to make and sell them until the Gaiki thing rolls out since I wanna see how that runs. I'd honestly like to get a PS4, PS3, and PS2 to enjoy the thousands of titles you can find for them.
