On the subject of horribly bad guitars, my dad (who in his infinite drunken wisdom thought it would be a great idea to buy an acoustic guitar because why the fuck not) and I ventured into a pawn shop one day because [sp] in his infinite drunken wisdom thought it would be a great idea to buy an acoustic guitar because why the fuck not[/sp] and he set his eyes on this shitty ass guitar. It was so cheap you could feel it. The neck felt like it was made out of balsa wood and the body was so laminated you could have sworn they made it out of plastic. I tried to convince my dad to go over to this little family own business that sells everything from banjos to electric guitars (I get discounts there all the time because the owners love me :D )
Anyway. He says "fuck that those guitars are expensive. And what if I break a string, son? Strings are expensive too! (lol)" So he buys that shitty ass piece of shit and he's never touched it since.
gg no re dad

I find epiphones to be exceptionally shit.
These Jasmine brand acoustics my school bought are pretty bad
It wouldn't be as terrible if they weren't left in a room with a wildly fluctuating humidity
Oh yeah it was a Jasmine my dad bought. The ONLY reason he bought it for was because it looked cool

I tried to tell him the neck was warped because every time he played a chord (he only played one, because the copious amounts of alcohol over 52 years fried his brain) the 1st and 2nd string would buzz against the fret. He then claimed it was my fault and I juked him out (lmao)

Meh don't take it personally, get enough people in here and I bet every brand will eventually show up. I have an epiphone and I love it.

I'll see you in court. Bring tissues
My father has a B.C. Rich Warlock Rave II, as far as I know it was made before they were bought out and it is REALLY good guitar. Single humbucker, maple fretboard, and great playability. It served my Dad well.

I am not a fan of exotic guitar shapes but put that aside and this guitar screams.
i'd love it if BC Rich's cataloque was more varied. the angular and emo black-and-red so-dark-and-edgy-it-will-cut-you models have taken the stage and the old round stuff like Bich, Mockingbird and Eagle has been left in their shadow, and altho they do make various versions of the Bich for example they don't have much variation when it comes to the finish or hardware. feels like they seriously lost their touch after the 80's
