He’s working with Mike Dietz and Ed Schofield of Pencil Test Studios, his animation collaborators on earlier games, to create a point-and-click adventure game for PC, Mac OSX and Linux.[/quote] [quote]In the game, you control the adventures of “a space explorer named Tommynaut and his blind alien, talking dog named Beak-Beak [who] crash land on a weird planet and end up locked in a mysterious fortress called Armikrog.”[/quote] [url=http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1949537745/armikrog]The Kickstarter![/url] [video=youtube;AKeZVUedSl0]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKeZVUedSl0[/video] i need $125.

Oh my fucking nerdgasm! Yess!

For the love of all that is good and claymation. LET THIS PROJECT BE FUNDED
Terry Taylor alone brings back the feels.
They ought to get Tommy Tallarico to do the OST.
Noooo my childhood phobia of Neverhood is coming to life again.
A claymation game?! I don't think I have ever seen that before!
I remember playing Neverhood from ages 5 to 7. Even though I never beat it and I didn't understand what was going on, it always kept me entertained and fascinated with this eerie and unique world.
holy shit holy shit holy shit doug tennapel holy shit
I didn't even have to think about this. Neverhood was a massive part of my childhood.
$900,000? Is it me or is that a bit much?
hoooooooooooooooooooooooly shit
Who enjoys claymation these days? sure you may have some old nolstagia, but honestly i don't see the whole population demand on this claymation thing.
It'd be really cool if a stretch goal was to re-release The Neverhood on Steam or GOG. I never played this as a kid and I feel like I missed out on something special.
[QUOTE=darkedone02;40820534]Who enjoys claymation these days? sure you may have some old nolstagia, but honestly i don't see the whole population demand on this claymation thing.[/QUOTE] I'm sure people would like to see something that isn't a first person shooter these days. [SUP][SUP][SUP][SUP][SUP][SUP][SUP][SUP][SUP]I'm eager for this and I've never played The Neverhood.[/SUP][/SUP][/SUP][/SUP][/SUP][/SUP][/SUP][/SUP][/SUP] [SUP][SUP][SUP][SUP][SUP][SUP][SUP][SUP][SUP][SUP][SUP][SUP][SUP][SUP][SUP][SUP][SUP]But I'm trying to fix the "never played neverhood part"[/SUP][/SUP][/SUP][/SUP][/SUP][/SUP][/SUP][/SUP][/SUP][/SUP][/SUP][/SUP][/SUP][/SUP][/SUP][/SUP][/SUP]
I have always loved claymation and how it has a bit of "heft" that even the coolest other methods of animation can't quite get.
[QUOTE=angrykid8;40820256]$900,000? Is it me or is that a bit much?[/QUOTE] it's actually less than it took to make the neverhood, according to the kickstarter page. [quote=kickstarter page]The Armikrog game will be comparable in size and scope to The Neverhood. It's been noted that our initial funding goal is significantly less than the cost of the original Neverhood game--this is possible since we are now utilizing technology that was not available to us 15 years ago (Unity engine, post-production and editing software, etc) which will allow us to create this game more efficiently with a overall higher level of quality.[/quote] you know what else is gonna be cool? kids that get to play this will be able to look at it when they're older and go "that was my childhood!"
[QUOTE=darkedone02;40820534]Who enjoys claymation these days? sure you may have some old nolstagia, but honestly i don't see the whole population demand on this claymation thing.[/QUOTE] claymation is cool as shit bro
Backed that shit. I cannot fucking wait.
I like how people pay money into projects that are likely to never see the light of day. You do realize that there's a reason they aren't getting funding through traditional means, right?
[QUOTE=Weirdness;40820649]Backed that shit. I cannot fucking wait.[/QUOTE] i really want to back it, so me and my sister are trying to work something out so that we can get the $125 reward tier, so that we get cool stuff.
Really, really hoping that Doug's strange and slightly warped sense of humor hasn't eroded at all over the years. [video=youtube;Pof6aL3qdb0]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pof6aL3qdb0[/video] I love the Neverhood and Skullmonkeys
[QUOTE=Sashaisme;40820779]i really want to back it, so me and my sister are trying to work something out so that we can get the $125 reward tier, so that we get cool stuff.[/QUOTE] Goodluck with that mang, I only had enough for the 20 dollar tier. :suicide:
[QUOTE=Weirdness;40820797]Goodluck with that mang, I only had enough for the 20 dollar tier. :suicide:[/QUOTE] that's still awesome, though! me and my sister have to each make about $63 each to be able to evenly split the pay for it. and i have no clue how we're gonna do it!
[QUOTE=popbob;40820661]I like how people pay money into projects that are likely to never see the light of day. Which is where kickstarter comes in; go straight to the fans, gauge their interest, and make the game they've been waiting for.

People are being toyed with through nostalgia and the games (if they even end up released), will always certainly not live up to the hype. You have no guarantee of quality or even a product and no recourse if they do scam you.
