[release]A five-year-old girl suffered severe facial injuries when she was attacked by her family's pet American bulldog in Northampton.
The girl's stepfather also suffered injuries to his arm as he grappled with the dog. Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Police had been called to Hanemill Court in the town at 1915 BST on Sunday to reports of a dog attack on a child.
The breed is not banned under the Dangerous Dogs Act, police added.
A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said the dog "was contained at the scene" and is due to be humanely destroyed.[/release]

Look at that evil fucker
Now, on a serious note, accidents like this one are tragically common where I live, particuarly Rottweilers or Pitbulls attacking little kids or elderly people... :/
What is wrong with people keeping big-ass dogs that are extremely dangerous??
Jesus, the thing looks adorable :saddowns:

They're not a dangerous breed, it's all about how you raise them.
In Hawaii, one of the wainae locals turned an should-be extremely gentle Golden Retriever into a monster that was chasing around school kids.
Looks so innocent.

I understand Bulldogs are pretty peaceful so yes, they probably didn't raise him right.
The way I see it, people over here it's like:
Bigass, dangerous dog = Big e-peen (more like "irl-peen")
The bigger, the better... :/
I hate bulldogs. They must be the ugliest looking dogs of all.

The genetical difference between a rottweiler and a small dog is less than the difference between a caucasian person and an asian person. It's not about the dog, it's the keepers fault the dogs turn aggressive.
I bet it was the girl who made the dog do this. My family had a dog, Brave, who had to be put down because the "bit" my little sister and my brother when they were fucking with him. I loved that dog.

also that came out wrong
Meh, Bulldogs are ugly fuckers with breathing problems.
Poor girl. I bet the dog will be put down though, when it's just a natural instinct. :(

Dogs have owners, cats have staff.

And please fucking raise dogs right.
I hate how whenever a pitbull or bulldog attack someone they get all kinds of bad press. You know what breed is the most dangerous and causes the most injuries and attacks every year? If you guess pitbull you weren't even close. It is the Dalmatian, bull dogs and pitbulls aren't even in the top five. People just really like to hear about pitbull attacks for some reason so the news reports on them. Dogs will behave how you raise them, regardless of the breed. Pitbull attacks can be more damaging just because they are tanks, but that doesn't mean they are vicious evil dogs.

Yes, but when you have breeds which are specifically bred to have extremely bad tempers and violent traits the possibility that they will snap like that and badly hurt people is much higher.
I'm pretty sure bulldogs are banned in Norway, which I guess is fine.
EDIT: No wait, i'm thinking of rottweilers.

we are bulldog breeders and believe us european bulldogs are anything but hard breathing and ugly
though the second one is perspective

Pugs are uglier.

I agree. IMHO bulldogs are among the ugliest :P

Really?? But what about Belgian Shepherds, for instance? I understand certain bloodlines of Belgian Shepherds are pretty aggressive.
A belgian shepherd:
Many Belgian Shepherds are dominant or aggressive toward other dogs of the same sex. Many have strong instincts to chase and seize cats and other fleeing creatures. If anything goes wrong in the breeding, socializing, training, handling, or management of this breed, it is capable of seriously injuring or killing other animals.
If you have small children, or if you or anyone who lives with you is elderly or infirm, I do not recommend Belgian Shepherd puppies. Young Belgian Shepherds (up to about two years old) romp and jump with great vigor, and things can go flying, including people. The temptation to play roughly and nip at moving people is simply too strong in many young Belgians.
Grrrrr...
Nowadays, when I see a big dog, I'm not actually afraid of it, but more afraid of how the owner raised him and how the it turned out :/

I bet my pug can kick all those dogs ass.
Pugs are fucking ugly and should be exterminated. All of them.
Girl wouldn't have been attacked by a pug if there were no such thing as pugs.
Another thing we didn't consider: Maybe the girl used to hit the dog, and the dog just defended himself...
I've seen it before, kids hitting dogs and cats and parents not doing a DAMN thing about it

People wouldn't murder other people if there was no such thing as people. So we should kill ourselves too?
Good reasoning man.
Although in this case the dog's owners might have made mistakes raising him, that's not always the case. There are numerous cases where a dog goes nuts and attacks someone and the owners and random people who knew the owners and their dog insist he was the most gentle animal alive, which would be unlikely if the owners were mistreating or raising him to be aggressive.

Yes.
Yes.
Ok, you go first.
Ok, you go first.
No.
If you don't train a dog, they will do things like this.
Just like a German shepard can be trained to be a killer, a bulldog can be trained to behave. All dogs can learn to be violent or peaceful.
