Any info about Sandy Bridge? Really not keen on installing something that would compromise stability
I recently purchased an I7 7700k and I'm worried about this patch before I install it, can it be avoided?

I heard that some ads may run java scripts and I didn't get Spectrd yet, my friends who run on Intels say that they're fine at the moment. I think as long as You got some adblocker and official patch installed and You won't visit any malicious websites i.e You won't click any cropped links, then I think You're going to be fine.

Having the official patch installed, however, that should fix the issue as much as software can fix it.
I don't know if its related to spectre or not but one of the updates in the last few weeks fricken bricked my home server.

Hmm. Either I brick my computer (or slow it by a few generations at best) VS malicious code.

At least that'll be what Intel's PR department peddles out next.
