I really don't know what caused it since its my sisters laptop and she gave it to me to fix. I tried everything I know and googled it and still can't get anything to work. I do have a windows vista installer disk that has the repair software on it, but, that did work, system restore didn't either. Hitting F8 at start up to start from last working configuration didn't work. I do have access in command prompt, so if I really need too, I will copy all the important files over, but I don't want to do that.
Ask her what she did before it went "mad" on her/you.
Apparently install vista service pack 1 [editline]23rd November 2010[/editline] ok, I decided to look at with command prompt, Half of the system 32 files are missing. So, Fuck it, coping over pictures then reinstalling vista.
