so, I've had this computer for a while, and i'm getting pretty tired of the parts it currently has.
this is the computer I have:

I haven't upgraded it at all, it still has the same parts as the day that I bought it.
I'm planning on replacing all or most of the parts in it, to make it an incredible gaming PC. I haven't got a specific budget, because i'll be buying and adding the parts overtime, so i'll be able to restock on money, but it'd be nice to keep the price at about $1,000.
I've only decided on one piece that I want, and that would be the hard drive:

If you have a better suggestion on a hard drive, feel free to post them. I don't know much about building a computer, so bare with me here.
If you want an honest opinion, buying parts over time is a bad idea. Better to save your money and buy at a future time. For one thing, you are guaranteed to get better value for money and will likely have a selection of components that aren't out yet.
For instance, if you are going for an Intel system then at the moment I would be recommending the i5 2500K, but if it is in 6 months time, ivy bridge will probably be with us, as will Bulldozer (the new AMD processors) and we are also getting the next generation of graphics cards in the last few months of the year too.
