Victor Serrano, 23, was sentenced to five years in jail suspended after serving 18 months, followed by two years of probation after pleading guilty to cruelty to animals and first-degree failure to appear in court - a felony. On April 1, Serrano, of 1222 Town Colony Drive, allegedly back-handed his girlfriend’s 2-year-old Chihuahua, killing the animal. When police arrived on the scene, they found a dead dog wrapped in a blue blanket. Photographs were taken of the dog as evidence, according to the report. Serrano told police that the dog had been barking non-stop while inside its cage. He thought letting the animal out would stop the barking. As the dog emerged from the cage, Serrano told police it bit him on the hand, although police saw no visible signs of a bite mark, according to the arrest report. Serrano was so angered by the bite, he allegedly smacked the dog in the neck area and sent it flying into the apartment wall. The dog landed on its side and its four legs tensed up. The dog began to shake and then died, according to the report. He was released from custody after posting bail but failed to show up to his arraignment to answer the charges. Police caught Serrano a week later. This time bond was set a $100,000 by a city judge and the defendant could not post it. Serrano has a lengthy criminal history with past convictions for assault, unlawful restraint, violation of a protective order and probation violation, according to court records.[/release] Well, we all know chihuahuas are the most fierce and vicious dogs ever, even more than rottweilers and pitbulls... right? ... My friend's Chihuahua, named Chicken, lures you in by looking adorable, only to unleash a devastating attack. You reach over to pet her, because she looks so plump and friendly and peaceful, but as soon as you're within reach: Bam! Bitch clamps down on your hand with all three teeth! Her eyes roll around, seemingly independent of one another, and these horrible "Exorcist" like noises tear from her mouth. I've flung that damn thing halfway across the room out of sheer reflex, and chihuahuas aren't especially durable creatures. Accidentally killing one of the friggen' things would be way too easy. Of course, his other two chihuahuas are both sweet and adorable, if a bit retarded looking.
