I have a fx8150. and Im looking to make another pc...

So Im going to spend hella money on a new computer... hopefully the idea of spending money will change his mind but if not then I need your advice...

I like 8 cores. I love being able to run billions of applications. Many have told me "FX SUCKS, i7 FO LIFE" which is fine. And thats what I want to learn more about. What makes the Intel cores so better the the fx. Will I notice it? Where do they shine? Is it worth the price to buy an i7 or even i5 over the fx?

I honestly dont know anything about CPU's other then speed and cores... Maybe cache. So before I spend my money Id like to know what you guys think and why.
