• Your Road Trip Albums

So you're going on a road trip accross the USA, in a car with a 5-cd changer. The only problem is, you don't have an Mp3 player, and the only room you have for music is in the cd-changer itself, so you can't take any cases. This means you'll be listening to the same five albums for a least a week. Which five do you take? Here are mine: Yes - Fragile To me, "Roundabout" sounds like a driving song with its upbeat tempo, with the other three 'proper' tracks complementing this. The Who - Who's Next Nothing like a few balls-to-the-wall rock tracks to get the engines revving. Roger Waters - The Pros And Cons Of Hitchhiking At exactly 4:30AM on this week-long road trip, I would switch to this album, and turn it up loud. It's not just the title which screams "driving album", but the music itself is the emotional kind you'd scream down the road to. Jeff Buckley - Grace A great album for any occasion, and simply one I wouldn't get tired of listening to. Genesis - The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway (Disc 1) Since I'd only be allowed 5 CDs, I would have to choose which half of The Lamb I would take. I choose disc 1 because not only do I find it musically superior to disc 2, there are also songs better suited to driving, like the title track and "In The Cage". So those are my five. Which albums would you want to be stuck with for a week?

oops I just realised I named six albums... bye bye Led Zep
Not like I'd know much about driving but I think these'd be what I'd choose for a five day drive. I don't think I'd get very tired of any of these to be honest. Good kinda pace. Feeder - The Singles Pendulum - Hold Your Colour 65daysofstatic - We Were Exploding Anyway The Prodigy - Invaders Must Die Muse - Origin of Symmetry

I guess I would just take 4 of my favourite records, and The Miracle of Sound in Motion, because that has a 'roadtrippy' feel to it for me. Animals as Leaders - Animals as Leaders Yes I am a massive fan. That's why I move all that air. I wouldn't bring something like periphery or animals as leaders because imo it can be a bit wearing to listen to. crack the skye definitely though.

I prefer Black Sails At Midnight over Captain Morgan's Revenge personally but it's still awesome.
