• Tornadoes in Northern California

So yea, those big storms we're having? This must be the grand finale or something, because the National Weather Service just issued a Tornado Warning for the Contra Costa County of Northern California. They say that the massive storm that's coming it should cause tornadoes to touch down near Discovery Bay. They recommend that if you live there, you should retreat to an interior hallway or closet and cover yourself with blankets. If you have a basement (unlikely) go there. :ohdear: Hopefully this doesn't happen in Alameda [i]county, as I live there and don't want my house ripped apart[/i] (Alameda, CA is fine). Discuss
I saw this on TV just a few minutes ago. I think it said something about it heading south-east.
I live in SoCal and we got 3 tornadoes. Big enough to rip roofs off and trees
We're really fucking close to the tornado, just southwest of where they issued the warning.

I barely see the storm on the radar, its a little thing. [editline]04:01PM[/editline] The warning gone.
I live in Tornado alley, and theres been at least four tornadoes in the past two months NEAR me.
[QUOTE=windwakr;19807026]Why did you make a thread about this? Tornadoes happen all the time. [editline]...[/editline] Ok, I guess they don't happen all the time there. I'm surprised how few tornadoes happen on the western half of the US. Best places to hide are , basements, under stair cases, bathrooms, or interior hallways. If possible get below ground, even a ditch can save you from a tornado. If you get caught off guard you can hide in a bathtub if you can cover it with something.
Thank goodness I live in Canada, current weather: light snow
This year's been craaazy. First snow stays on the ground (and our town hasn't seen snow in the last 32 years), biggest storm in a couple years and now tornadoes.
