Ok, firstly I would like to state some of these are shopped, and most use high amounts of tone-mapping. These ( and a lot more ) are hosted on my deviantart account (link: http://cdlink.deviantart.com/gallery/#_browse)
I hardly get out of my house much, hence a lot of the photos are just shot through my bedroom windows.
My camera of choice for all (unless specified that my mobile was used) is this:
[img_thumb]http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/5504/cmeradigitalf4a7828edb7.jpg[/img_thumb]
Fujifilm A850 generic 8.1MP camera, Very cheap, cost me £50 about 2 years ago.
I've Been Here Before
This is one of my early attempts at faking HDR with a single jpeg image, I was walking to the town centre with my friend Kurt, to do some videogame shopping.

Route Kanal
Named after the HL2 chapter, I loved how shiny the water and wet mud came out on this, I named this because whenever I see wet mud, I immediately think of the slushy hl2 sound when the player jumps in wet mud. This was shot on the way back from videogame shopping with Kurt.

UK Exclusive Weather
Shot at about 5AM, Tweaked with fake HDR, and some smoothing added to remove noise from the clouds.

Harvest Morning
This to me, is the master of all my shots! Description quote from Deviantart:
This is an amazing shot, and I didn't even take it! I forgot to turn my camera off after taking the 2 " this is where I live " shots, and I put it in my pocket, while I was walking I must of hit the button, and it took this shot through my jacket...

Do the colors bind you?
A very simple shot of a tree in a field, taken on a random walk.

Skyset
This was another random shot, taken while on a random walk.

Water Drop
I took this during a random visit to the local park.

In the countryside 11
Shot taken on a random trip from my hometown (Hull) to Scarborough, and then Whitby.

Morning Sky 2
Taken randomly during the morning, I decided to set a high amount of noise removal on the clouds, to give a fake long exposure effect.

Skyline
Yet another random shot, taken early morning.

Eternal Flame
I woke up one morning, and found this amazing sky outside my window, and well, first instinct was to reach for my camera.

Nuclear Sunrise
I woke up late one morning to go to college, saw this outside my window. I really wish I spent more time to stare at it...

Early Morningz
One of my personal favorites, I love how contrasting the clouds came out!

Early Morningz 2
Same description as above.

Early Morningz 3
Same description as above.

Morning Fog
Another very early morning photo, I love how the tonemapping really brought out the fog, and colours!

Nuclear Dawn
One of my other personal favorites, I loved how well this came out!

Vivid Inferno
Don't you just love time-confliction(self-made word/meaning) photos? The total feel that there is some sort of collision in time, which causes a rainy overcast day, to somehow mash into a vivid, hot, sunny day?

Consuming Fire
This one was a total pain for me to edit, I set the ISO setting too high, hence I got a very bad looking grainy photo. Though some editting cleaned it up... mostly.

And... that's the end of it! I know most of these are repetitive, and very much raped in paint shop pro. But still all Comments, and Criticism are welcome, but PLEASE, keep it constructive!
You need a digital SLR my good sir and I am not saying this in a mean/elitest way I'm saying this because some of your pictures are very, very pretty and I imagine they'd be stunning if you had a proper camera if you're into photography enough to invest in one.
It is a shame about the noise on some as if they were over sharpened or the levels were played with a bit too much? Regardless, I adore "route kanal", "nuclear sunrise", "early morningz 2" and "vivid inferno" a lot.
+1 artistic.
(If I ever need some image post processing can I give you a shout? :3:)
Some shots seem alright, but you need to work on your composition.
Are you in Rhode Island?

I've always wanted to own a decent camera, but never really had enough money to purchase one. I do find photography to be a a good way of expressing my feelings.

Shame you don't live closer (looking on google maps I am 2 hours away - I live in Preston) or I would've happily let you use mine for a day or something. Though I'd have to keep you in my sights - my camera is like a baby to me and I am over protective when other people are touching it. I think most people get that way with certain possessions they own though.

yeah I'm kinda like that with most of my own possesions. And maybe we could get to talk on msn, and maybe meet up in a center point city to do some photography sometime?

Well if you enjoy doing unique photographs a lot, if you look outside to the north right now, the sun is very clear, sharp, and crisp, something I've never caught in my own photographs.
here's a picture to show you ( with some blur around the sun which I couldn't remove, due to focus ).

Sure sometime we'll have to try and do that. Maybe we can see if other Facepunchers want to all go and have a photo trip. :v:

The sun looked great! I just managed to get a shot of it through the one strip of clouds that was in the way.

And yeah, I hope we can arrange a photo trip. :D
Care to add me to msn? aaml(at)live(dot)co(dot)uk
I don't use my MSN much (if ever) but I will add you on it any way. I am on Steam every day pretty much though.
Also yeah it can do raw images. I just keep it on "JPEG normal" though at the moment. I did try "JPEG fine" but saw no real differences. The raw images it does are NEF files and I did try one but photoshop said it couldn't open it so I decided to leave it for now (too lazy to install whatever I needed to do.)
edit:
Added you now. Also if you have a flickr add me as a contact: http://www.flickr.com/people/51469455@N08/ (and the FP group: http://www.flickr.com/groups/1248673@N23/)

For all the raw files I've encountered, I was capable of opening then in Dynamic-Photo HDR.

I'll make an account, and join soon.
I went out and took some pictures with my Nikon set to raw. I only wanted to do the leaves but saw some cows nearby so tried to shoot them (though they were slightly far away.) Though they were a bit far away. I will upload them to the photography topic though I'd hate to thread hijack. :v:
I'll check for the Steam add now. :buddy:
Pretty good photos and edits for a point and shoot. Like others have said, you should work towards getting your hands on a DSLR, if only an entry level one.
Oh, you mentioned Scarborough, so I thought of Rhode Island. :unsmith:
If youre like me (I started on a point and shoot), get a DLSR, youre skill will sky rocket. If youre interested, id recomend a Nikon D40, powerful, professional, but still easy to use.

have a funny for making me giggle.xD
Actually, I don't know where that second smaller sphere came from. lens refraction, maybe?
Quite good pictures.
I loved the sky in almost all of them. Weird. I'm not normally a sky person.
Wonderful shots, surprisingly good quality for your camera, all things considered. Only really issues with the grain.
You do lots of post-production to bring out the vivid colors though, I assume?
I'd definitely say invest in a better camera if you're really getting into this sort of thing. It's a great hobby, and an amazing job if you can land one in the field.
I quite like them, but my major complaint is about how nearly every photo is on an angle. It provides a jarring look to the photo ... and not necessarily in a good way. If the grain and the tilt can be fixed, you're well on your way to taking even better photos.

I agree with this statement. Might I suggest the use of a tripod? Though, for a generic Digital Camera, these are excellent photographs.

It's probably lens flare. Or the fact that you live with your Aunt and Uncle on a moisture farm

yeah I love the sky, clouds, and sun-rises/sets. :)
