So it's basically Magicka space edition, that's pretty cool I suppose.
I played it on PS4, it's really fun but I had to return it to gamefly because I was getting too angry at my teammates and I don't need that kind of rage right now. This is Starship Troopers the video game. If there already is a ST videogame and it sucks, then this is the videogame of the book and the movie but with several different types of mechs and tanks
Looks fun. Doesn't have the charm of Magicka, but I like it.
I would take scifi over fanatasy any day haha
Somehow Helldivers made me think of halo ODST, However i'm impressed by the trailer so i'll give it a go. Would of liked another ODST game but we can't have everything!
I have a ps4 and loved magicka but I never bought this game because none of my friends have the ps4 and i don't consider these kinds of coop game worth playing with strangers. Might be picking it up now, hope they offer a discounted pack with a few copies you can gift to people.
I have it and its pretty fun Great couch game to get angry at with all your friends when they're over

I've played it a lot. My feelings are it looks great, feels good to play, and definitely is a satisfying challenge to play at times. My only gripe with it is that after you play for awhile, you just don't really have an objective. Regardless, I'll probably get it on Steam and play with a bunch of friends. As mentioned before, it's a great, less expensive Co-Op experience, a type which seems to be in short supply lately in the game industry..
So basically these are ODSTs? [editline]6th November 2015[/editline] it actually looks p sick
So it's basically Magicka space edition, that's pretty cool I suppose.
More like Alien Swarm: Magicka Edition
I'm getting some serious WH40k vibes from this and that is not a bad thing. Me and my friends loved Magicka and I'm probably going to get this too.
This game is awesome. The best part about it is it's cross-platform and cross-play. I wonder if the same will hold true with the PC version. They managed to get PS Vita, PS3, and PS4 players to all be able to play together so I'm curious to see if they can pull that off with the PC. The game feels more like Starship Troopers mixed with ODST and some Warhammer. It's definitely an interesting setting and leveling up and unlocking new things is fun. DLC is cheap ($10 cheap and it gives you at least $10 worth of new content, usually 3-4 weapons a pack + cool outfits). They also regularly update the game with neat "expansions". Since the game came out they've done like two, both of which just add to the base game. The last one added intense boss fights and stuff. The gameplay does get pretty stale over time. Higher-level missions are basically impossible to pull off with randoms because they want to stay and fight instead of run and complete the objectives. My only SERIOUS gripe about the game is that sometimes it's very difficult to remember who you actually are. Everyone is color-coded but even still, if you've always been the kind of person to play split-screen games and forget if you're top or bottom, then you'll certainly run into some issues with this game. Since it's a top-down shooter, the camera is limited to display all four players on the screen at once and they are "tethered" together, meaning if two players run off in separate directions they will only be able to go so far and then not move any further. This causes tons of problems when nobody knows what to do or where to go and results in lots of unnecessary deaths. The strategems are neat too. Basically you can equip up to 4, and you can mix and match them however you please and they range anywhere from critical fire support like calling in a railcannon strike on a heavy tank, to ammunition drops and heavy weapons like recoiless rifles and disposable rocket launchers. The game really shines with the little details they toss in with the co-op play. The recoiless rifle drops with the weapon itself and an ammo pack, which can be carried by another player. When one player fires it, they can call out for a reload and the guy with the pack can run up and reload them in less than a second, versus carrying the pack yourself which takes around 10 seconds. I've had a ton of fun playing this game on the PS3. Definitely worth the money.
This looks great. Heard about it a few months ago and I was under the impression that it was PS4 only, but it's cool to see it come to PC.
Getting Alien Swarm vibes. Not a bad thing
More like Alien Swarm: Magicka Edition
Starship Troopers: Magica Edition
Getting Alien Swarm vibes. Not a bad thing
Alien Swarm couldv'e been great had it received frequent content updates
There does happen to be a ST video game, but it has all the quality and finesse of the straight-to-dvd sequels.
You mean the shooter? I remember that being shit, but there was this weird RTS thing for Starship Troopers that I remember liking... Wonder if it actually was good or if I was just so young that every game was like the best fucking thing ever.
this looks like starship troopers meets magicka, where do i throw my money?
This game is the shiznyte. I hope to fucking god there's crossplatform play with PS4 and PC players because the amount of people playing went way down after we won the first war. [editline]6th November 2015[/editline] Also people comparing this to Halo or Warhammer need to fuck off. Starship Troopers had all the shit you see in 40k and Halo since 1959.

Very similar to the recruitment video from the movie in some ways

I played it a couple of years ago for nostalgia's sake and it still holds up decently. I think it's just called 'Starship Troopers', though. No subtitle or anything.
I was about to post how Starship Troopersy the trailer is. Very similar to the recruitment video from the movie in some ways
The game itself is obviously inspired by Starship Troopers. The humans worship democracy and have a form of it where they fill out a questionaire and i automatically elects who best fits their views, and the reasons for attacking the alien race are very american. The reason the humans are at war with the bugs is because they're anti-freedom but coincidentally, the war started shortly after oil was found on their planets. You're pretty much playing as Zapp Brannigan's army from the episode where they go to war with the balls [editline]7th November 2015[/editline] Also you guys are going to love this, it has local co-op and you can bring it online so you and your friends can play a game in your living room and some guys can join
The RTS is Starship Troopers: Terran Ascendancy, and I actually liked the FPS game quite a bit, despite all its' faults. On topic: This looks really neato, sure as hell gonna nab it if I can get it for a low price
I can't read that title without hearing holydiver There's better be a holydiver
This sort of thing would be funnier if it was Communists bringing democracy and stuff
Clearly a funny bullet hell game, it really does look like zap brannigans army
