Sony: Oh shit, we are fucked because of this unstoppable exploit, what do? Sue the hell out of them.
"prevents distribution of the software produced as a result" It's already all over the internet. Why are they doing this?
The Streisand effect [editline]12th January 2011[/editline] Sony can't stop this
I'm sorry Sony, its too late, sue them all you want :p
This isn't suing, It's a restraining order.
oh sony you so silly
Sony is really fucked up with this
Was wondering when this was going to happen
Isn't this exploit unstoppable because sony basically did this?
I'm interested in knowing how Sony is gonna fix a code when all the official games out there use it :v:
Wait, so Sony's mad over their mistake? Sony is the one who made the unrandom number.
Wait, so Sony's mad over their mistake? Sony is the one who made the unrandom number.
Indeed. I would've just used like, any number from between 1 and 1,000,000 with some letters in there or something.
I'm interested in knowing how Sony is gonna fix a code when all the official games out there use it :v:
No point being interested because the fact is they can't do shit about it.
Console gets cracked, allowing developers to create amazing homebrew products, run experimental code on a powerful machine, and generally dick around with the hardware. However, the crackers reluctantly admit that there is a slight possibility of someone going through the trouble to pirate games with this method. SUE THE BASTARDS!!!1!11!
I'm interested in knowing how Sony is gonna fix a code when all the official games out there use it :v:
Spoilers: [sp]They can't.[/sp] They can certainly instate some new keys or new DRM for future software, but the entire existing backlog can't be fixed. They could release patches for every single PSN game ever, but Blu-Ray Disc games are boned; you can't patch a disc.
I'm interested in knowing how Sony is gonna fix a code when all the official games out there use it :v:
I think they could create a whitelist of every single signature used by legit software out there and use a new key for new software, but there are probably problems with that too. Like the key being hardcoded into the hardware or something. [editline]13th January 2011[/editline]
Indeed. I would've just used like, any number from between 1 and 1,000,000 with some letters in there or something.
That's what they did :downs: They were supposed to use a different number for every signature though.
