He's a republican and he's the obvious choice for a moderate GoP because he can at least be reasoned with. He wouldn't be a completely shit candidate for President.

If this kind of thing comes as a shock to Chris or any of his associates then they have a lot to learn about being a political celebrity.

I think the saddest, or perhaps moreso frightening, thing is that Christie is one of the sanest people in the GOP right now. He's still an awful person, but he is miles ahead of most of the rest of the GOP.

He's a RINO. The Republican party doesn't like him, but they're ignoring him because he's one of the best candidates to front the next election for their party at the moment.
