If anyone is still on the fence about this game don't be. The game is infinitely more polished and fun than Colonial Marines. And those tense moments when you're in the same room with the Alien hoping it won't sniff you out turns the game into pants shitting simulator 2014. I'm not a huge fan of the DLC model like many people, but I'll probably pick up the season pass because I'm loving this game so damn much. And the shipped challenge map is actually pretty fun.
If you love Aliens, if you love survival-horror games, if you just love to be frightened and have your dick shrivel up inside of you (or your clit, I dunno what you are), then get this game. Don't even think about it for more than a second, the only decision you could make is to buy this game. Do it, you will not regret it. It wouldn't even be possible for you to regret it. Also, if you're unsure of whether or not your machine will be able to run it, trust me, it's an extremely well optimized game. You could probably run it on a netbook if you tried.
My personal game of the year
Seriously one of the best purchases I made this year. Really full experience with a lot to offer even outside the main campaign and im actually looking forward to more DLC. Also runs fucking amazingly and looks great. Easily would be my goty if MGS:GZ wasnt coming to PC.
For some reason gameplay-wise I think the DLCs are gonna be pretty boring. What can you do, hide from the alien? I did that the whole main game
Also runs fucking amazingly and looks great.
I've read some comments elsewhere online where people criticize the graphics for being "too simple" looking. Compared to the likes of say Farcry, Battlefield etc. sure it is. But that's the aesthetic its aiming for. That clean, simplistic and aged retro design that Alien is known for and I think some people miss that. One thing is for sure though, the fire and smoke effects in this game are very sexy.
Great, I'm still stuck in the med bay... I've literally been stuck there for 8 hours. :sigh:
My only regret is not experiencing this game first hand with an oculus rift. As great an Alien game as it was, I wish I'd have waited.
Since I don't have anything else to play this game on, I must ask. How's the PS3 port in terms of performance? I've been weighing options since it came out on whether or not I should get it.
