my family had a msx once. I still have a book about using / programming for a msx on my shelf.
MSX games look weird in a way. It's like NES quality and resolution sprites, but 256 colors.
Its weird that it didn't have any general purpose serial ports, unless there were cartridge modems, etc?
Japanese retro computers are really cool. Because of the complexity of Kanji and Katakana symbols, Japanese PCs needed a lot more graphical power than typical Western computers to display readable text. This naturally made the computers great for games. Aesthetically they also looked fucking awesome.
