• $500 budget for a laptop

Now, I've never really shopped around for a laptop before, and since I don't think I could build one myself. I was wondering if you could help me find one. I would like for it to play most games on medium settings. I just want to make sure i'm buying something nice and not getting ripped off. I live in the US btw. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834157516 I was thinking of this one. Should i get it?
Games on medium settings if you mean Counter Strike and maybe Killing Floor. $500 for a laptop is not enough. Look for at least $650 or so to get one with a dedicated GPU so you can actually play games.
Well, I'm only really looking to play League of Legends really and would the laptop that I posted be a good choice? [editline]8th February 2011[/editline] This one has a Dedicated card but does it really make much of a difference? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220758
The CPU in that ASUS seems a little weak and I don't think it has Turboboost. Anyways, you are right in saying that League of Legends isn't hard to run and an integrated GPU can run it, but in the future you'll regret it. I still recommend that you get a better budget, but I'll find some laptops still. Also do you have a desktop since if you don't really move a lot it would be better than a notebook. Republic of Gamer asus laptops are pretty powerful and cheap, although slightly bulky. I've seen one with a 1 gb 360gtx, i7 processor, 500gb hard drive and a bunch of other stuff for 560 bucks.
What where?

Also, Falco I am only really going to be using it up until I ship out for the Marines Aug. 22nd, after that im buying a much, much better one. I was also thinking of maybe getting a desktop. But would i be able to build a really nice desktop for $500?
For $500 you could have a decent desktop (as long as you don't need to buy a monitor too).
He wants a fucking laptop. GIVE HIM A LAPTOP DAMN IT!
For $500 you could have a decent desktop (as long as you don't need to buy a monitor too).
I have a monitor already. 1600 x 900 21in.
how about an OS [editline]wef[/editline] oh god the 635 is out of stock
how about an OS
I have a Genuine 64-bit Windows 7. So ya i have an OS.
Well since you have a monitor and an OS that makes the build a lot better. So, its $500 now or $0 later. Its my parents tax return. If I don't use it right there then I might not be able to at all. But, I'll talk to them and try to see if I could get the budget for that.
