Chris Brown has just arrived at court to fight the L.A. County D.A.'s motion to revoke the singer's probation ... a move that could land Brown in prison for up to 4 years.
As we reported, the L.A. County D.A. has filed a request to revoke Brown's probation in the wake of hit-and-run charges that were filed against him, stemming from a car accident in May.
Brown allegedly left the scene without forking over a California driver's license and proper insurance info -- hence the hit-and-run allegations -- but as we reported, the victim doesn't want Brown prosecuted.
Brown's lawyer has since filed docs asking for the criminal case to be dropped -- but the D.A. is still moving forward because Brown has a duty to obey all laws as a condition to his probation in the Rihanna beating case.

If he does end up in jail for even like an hour, and on the off-chance he comes into contact with others, maybe a crazed Rihanna fan who's also a prisoner will shank him.
As other people have said, he most likely won't serve the full prison term. My guess is he'll probably only serve a few months at most. But that's with any famous celebrity who gets caught doing something illegal, they more often then not only serve a tiny fraction of their actual prison sentence simply because their famous. Remember Paris Hilton and how she didn't even serve a full day in prison for drug charges.
