Been waiting for another WWII shooter for a long time.
just gonna be another city interactive piece of rubbish.
they did toy with an interesting idea of the player playing as a german soldier but i have no idea where that went
That bit where he took a German hostage in the snow.. That was the limpest hostage ever. The moment he was grabbed, he was like "Oh well, I guess I'm a hostage now. No need to struggle or yell or anything."

Would you struggle with a gun pressed against your neck?
Looks pretty awful to be honest..
Would you struggle with a gun pressed against your neck?
Out of reflex at the first grab around my neck, yes. Yes I would.
I was exicted but then I saw who is making this title.
The people behind Ghost Warrior 1 and 2....
welp.
Besides, hostage-taking is mutually beneficial, in a way. The hostage taker gets some security and leverage in bargaining, and the hostage takee gets temporary safety, since a dead hostage is quite a useless asset. Of course, in video games, human-shield-hostages always end up getting shot or neck-twisted anyway, but in a real situation..
I want a WWI game :[ .

Maybe it could work on the Russian front, where the front wasn't static. Or in the Ottoman Empire.

Would you use the same sound effect for the MP40 as Company of Heroes?

If you set it in 1918 you could easily have it on the western front

What does that have to do with what I said?

why do people say stuff like this
new objective: stay in the bunker until the shelling stops
*15 minutes later*
new objective: equip gas mask and survive the gas attack
*15 minutes later*
new objective: be a meat shield for everyone behind you
mission complete you will be dearly remembered

Yes because all of WWI was like this. Thank you for clarifying.

Only the western front was very static, the eastern parts had amphious landings(gallipoli and mobility was the key for Germany in Russia.

But it pretty much was, at least the war side of WWI.

The war was fast paced for the Ottoman Empire and Russia. Not sitting in a trench waiting to go over the top.
Would you struggle with a gun pressed against your neck?
The player spent most of his time aiming the gun at the other soldier. He had a pretty clear window of opportunity.

Went to shit when Stuart Black left.
It's annoying because they were pushing the idea of massive squads and actual tactical depth. You couldn't function as a one-man army and apparently destruction was a big part of it all.
But it pretty much was, at least the war side of WWI.
the western front wasn't the only front in the war you know
and from mid 1917 onwards the western front was pretty mobile aswell
the people who always go "lololo sit in trench the game wouldnt be very fun" just don't know shit about ww1, for example you could set the game in the hundred days offensive and have it be a fucking blast

An open world WW2 fps/rpg kinda like saboteur would be great.
It feels like Call of Duty 2 with UE and decent HUD lol

Where did they mention this idea? I'm trying to look it up but I'm not finding anything on google.
