We don't either. Nonetheless, Senator Donna Campbell, a conservative from New Braunfels, is doing everything in her power to stop this scenario from ever happening. So, naturally, she filed what may be the dumbest proposed bill the Texas Legislature hopefully won't consider this year. Here's the sentence that could protect the Alamo from the United Nations. "The land office may not enter into an agreement that vests any ownership, control, or management of the Alamo complex in an entity formed under the laws of another country," the bill states. The Protect the Alamo Act is in response to the San Antonio Missions possibly becoming a World Heritage site though the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). "It's already one of the most recognizable landmarks on the planet," Campell told the Texas Tribune. "The Alamo is the story of Texas. It was there that Texas first stood her ground to be free, and the U.N. doesn't have any business there."
http://www.sacurrent.com/Blogs/archives/2015/02/14/texas-senator-thinks-the-united-nations-is-trying-to-conquer-the-alamo
Wait, so she doesn't want it to be a world heratage site?
alamo sucks anyways its terrible the way they treated it like yes its a symbol of texas but when you put a ripleys believe it or not tourist trap right next to it and put slushy machines in the alamo it seems the UN would be better to take over the alamo
Wait, so she doesn't want it to be a world heratage site?
She's probably one of those Agenda 21 conspiracy theorists.
"It's already one of the most recognizable landmarks on the planet,"
Probably the first time I've ever seen a picture of it is that's it in the op, I don't actually think many people know about the Alamo to be honest with you.
Some days, I'm proud of living here...other days, I'm not.
Probably the first time I've ever seen a picture of it is that's it in the op, I don't actually think many people know about the Alamo to be honest with you.
Texans just have this problem with thinking they and their landmarks are more important than they actually are.
Wait, so she doesn't want it to be a world heratage site?
It don't need to be when it is already a TEXAS heritage site. Don't need no socialist Euros payin for it.
Probably the first time I've ever seen a picture of it is that's it in the op, I don't actually think many people know about the Alamo to be honest with you.
yeah, it's not very impressive at all in person, it's just that little building with a mall behind it
This is coming from the same state where another senator read 'Green Eggs and Ham' to the senate during a filibuster so nothing in this article remotely surprises me.
I have to question the logic of some people sometimes..
That's just how UN does things. First they come up with an excuse like "making Alamo a world heritage site" or "checking the facility for nuclear weapons", next they blow it all up and put your boss in a coma for 9 years.
Probably the first time I've ever seen a picture of it is that's it in the op, I don't actually think many people know about the Alamo to be honest with you.
I actually thought the Alamo was a small little town in ruins kept as a turist spot, somewhere in the middle of the Texan desert. I didn't expected it to be in the middle of fucking San Antonio Oh, and that it's name was literally The Alamo. It's a Catholic mission. Boy, was that a dissapointment
They just want to check the basement for nukes.

Boy, was that a dissapointment
Well, once upon a time San Antonio was a small village.
The land office may not enter into an agreement that vests any ownership, control, or management of the Alamo complex in an entity formed under the laws of another country
Is the UN considered a country?
This is coming from the same state where another senator read 'Green Eggs and Ham' to the senate during a filibuster so nothing in this article remotely surprises me.
A filibuster is going to be a filibuster regardless of what garbage it is filled with, cant really blame him with a good selection.
Probably the first time I've ever seen a picture of it is that's it in the op, I don't actually think many people know about the Alamo to be honest with you.
It's really small and underwhelming, smack dab in the middle of downtown.
Dona Campbell is a state Senator. Ted Cruz is one of our United States Senators representing Texas. [editline]15th February 2015[/editline] While the Alamo is a small underwhelming Catholic Mission, it's a very important battleground in Texas history.
Why does the republican party have so many people express their dumb thoughts. Don't get me wrong the democrats have some too but more often than not it's the ones on this side of the isle that have the stupidest views.
formed under the laws of another country,"
from wikipedia
The United Nations was formulated and negotiated among the delegations from the Soviet Union, the UK, the US and China in Dumbarton Oaks Conference.[13][14]The UN officially came into existence 24 October 1945, upon ratification of the Charter by the five permanent members of the Security Council—France, the Republic of China, the Soviet Union, the UK and the US
so texas really thinks the US is a foreign power then? after all its pretty much our laws there [editline]16th February 2015[/editline] i don't understand the hate for the UN, its not like we don't have the ability to stop anything there, and its never actually done any of the horrible freedom-damning things people in the US have been dreading for 70 years
the alamo is an overrated overmarketed piece of shit seriously, the texas capitol building is more impressive.
the alamo is an overrated overmarketed piece of shit seriously, the texas capitol building is more impressive.
While our Capitol building is impressive, being bigger than the US Capitol building, it is not a battleground in which every Texian soldier died for independence from Mexico. The building wasn't kept around because it looked nice. It was kept around because it was a graveyard and a symbol of Texas Independence.
I mean, it's not really even commonly known outside of maybe the US and maybe Mexico. I don't think you need to worry about foreign aggression hurting it. That being said, if some blue helmets want to try and storm the alamo and take muh guns I'd love to be there waiting for them god bless go usa

Its like the Brits saying their massive loss after the French surrender was the decisive battle in beating the nazis
The Alamo disappointed me.
Our lawmakers ladies and gentlemen.. Edited Seriously though there's an majority of this planet that U.N. is probably concerned about, and I doubt the Alamo is one of them.

[t]http://www.dafont.com/forum/attach/orig/3/6/360705.jpg?1[/t] what are you guys talking about the Alamo being overmarketed? Its incredible

Well at least she remembered it
