So, this is sort of an update on my older post (Which somehow fixed itself). I dropped my laptop about half a year back, and i've been having problems with it ever since. The main problems include: I broke the screen, my battery isint working at all, (as in sometimes it can support power for 2 minutes, and sometimes 30 seconds). And i've been getting these weird BSoD's. So what happends, i usually do something that doesnt require very much of the computer, and it gets VERY LAGGY and fucks up my sound, and i'm unable to move my mouse for about 10 seconds. After this, it returns to a normal state for about 5 seconds, and then it BSoD's me with the error code 000000000f4. These BSoDs came randomly it appeard, and i've just kinda lived with it. I thought it might be a software issue, so i formatted my computer. I didn't have any problems with BSoDs for the next 3-4 days, but after installing standard stuff (Steam, Skype, Spotify, WoW, ETC.) i started getting them again. This night, after i left my computer open, i came back to this issue. Everytime i try to turn it on, i get "A disk read error occured, Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to Restart". And everytime i restart, it displays this error again. [editline]12th July 2013[/editline] Welp, there came something new just as i posted: "Windows Boot manager: Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer. This error can be caused by unplugging a removable storage device such as an external USB drive while the device is in use, or by faulty hardware such as a hard drive or CD-ROM drive that is failing. Make sure any removable storage is properly connected and then restart your computer. If you continue to receive this error message, contact the hardware manufacturer. File: \Boot\BCD Status: 0xc00000e9 Info: An unexpected I/O error has occurred.
That error probably means that your hard drive is not far away from dying, if it hasn't already.
So changing the harddrive should fix the issue?
Yeah it should
Check if your SATA cable isn't damaged or loose, 40/60% chance it's prior to that. I had a friend which had a damaged SATA cable, cleaned up his computer and this occured, quick troubleshooting and I found out the damn SATA cable was unusable.
