Two handheld games, two console games, plus expansion. Not exactly a whole series to start calling Nintendo out on constant rehashing.
The whole point was to establish the advantages of the new system, for each of them. And they all added something significantly new to the series.

To be honest, I wouldn't say "significantly new to the series (especially NSMB2)," but they're definitely fantastic "benchmarks" per system
I wish the 3DS didn't have 3d. It'd make things cheaper, they might have put in a higher resolution screen, and things might look better too.

Not to mention, gyroscope controls on many games like Luigi's Mansion and Ocarina of Time are completely incompatible with the 3D effect.
3DS is a great system, but little design oversights like this are frustrating.

I don't get why nintendo has to pay the fee when they're just using the technology from SHARP or whoever makes the LCDs.

it acts as a sort of AA to me (i have the XL and I don't really notice aliasing)
i certainly would prefer the 3d to higher resolution, i quite like the way it works in games. but it does make gyro not work, so I just don't use gyro controls

3D is actually rather good in my opinion. I like to play games like Ocarina of Time and Luigis Mansion 2 with the 3D on. I love indepth look.
It actually bothers my eyes tremendously, but I guess that's because I'm not used to it. My eyes start hurting within the first three minutes usually.

I have a friend who really can't use the 3D for more than 10 minutes, then he gets headache.
For me the 3D never hurts my eyes at all. I can use it for as long as I want and I never fear any headaches from it.

What? Aliasing is way more pronounced in 3D mode, especially on the XL.
And funnily enough, many games actually enable real AA (and sometimes even more quality enhancements) when you turn the 3D off. :v: OoT3D comes to mind as one. The draw distance, texture quality, and anti-aliasing are all better in 2D mode for that game.

The 3d looked fantastic in Fire Emblem, so I always have it on for that, admittedly at about 30%. Any higher and I get this feeling like pressure right in the center of my forehead, and I have to turn it down.
I have no problem with the 3D I just feel as if it doesn't add anything.
