Even tropical storms can screw everything up. I remember back in 2008 when TS Fay hit the coastline and then stopped, and dumped so much rain on my county that school was canceled for a week and the roads were flooded several feet deep. Luckily, my house is built on a slight rise in the ground and all the water flowed into the neighborhood lake.
