10 million lost in a span of 4 weeks MySpace has lost 10 million unique users in the space of one month - between January and February 2011 - dropping down to 63 million members. Tech analyst ComScore reported that MySpace had 63 million users in February 2011, as compared to 73 million in January 2011. The social network slashed 500 jobs earlier this year and is seemingly unable to keep up with Facebook, which has been going strength ot strength with its network having half of UK's population as members. It's a sharp departure from when MySpace was the social network to keep in touch with friends and launch musical careers. Last year at the same time, MySpace was attracting 95 million unique users. Mike Jones, MySpace's chief executive said to The Telegraph at the end of 2010 that MySpace was no longer a social network and Facebook rival. He said, "MySpace is a not a social network anymore. It is now a social entertainment destination." http://www.t3.com/news/myspace-loses-10-million-users-in-one-month?=54801
I forgot MySpace was still a thing.
People still use MySpace? Edit: It says a lot when Broken Hobo's can type faster than you.
People still use myspace?? [editline]27th March 2011[/editline] What the fuck
Like Myspace wasn't filled with whores anyway.
What's myspace lmao
Facebook > Myspace
Why did people switch to Facebook anyway.
Everything Rupert Murdoch touches turns to shit
I'm surprised there's still 63 million users.
And nothing of value was lost.
I'm surprised there's still 63 million users.
Most of them are probably inactive.
Why did people switch to Facebook anyway.
Because it was less filled with chain letters and popup ads and shit, and the profiles didn't look like ass.
Inb4 socially awkward facepunch users bash facebook and myspace users for having friends.
Everything Rupert Murdoch touches turns to shit
What do you mean "turns to"?
Inb4 socially awkward facepunch users bash facebook and myspace users for having friends.
Yes your 6337 friends matter much...
Inb4 socially awkward facepunch users bash facebook and myspace users for having friends.
Uhh I hope you realize that the amount of people with 500+ friends that actually directly talk to all, or even the majority, of them on a yearly basis is still probably 0. I don't think that qualifies them all as being your 'friend'. I don't even see why you brought this up.
Inb4 socially awkward facepunch users bash facebook and myspace users for having friends.
I can guarantee you out of the 100 or so facebook friends anyone has, you only talk to about 3 or 4 of them a day. Facebook is pathetic and stupid, so is myspace. Antisocial networking sites are disgusting things.
People that say Facebook sucks because you're not actually socializing have to realize that the term "Friends" on Facebook just means "Contacts." I CAN'T talk to my cousins everyday, they live halfway across the country. I CAN'T talk to some of my friends anymore, they moved far away. I do talk to at least 10 of my Facebook friends every day in real life, usually more. The point of Facebook isn't to have as many contacts as possible, it's about being able to socialize when you can't in real life.
Like Myspace wasn't filled with whores anyway.
I like whores though...
People bash Facebook for what is the user's fault.
Here's the thing. Facebook succeeded for 2 reasons. 1. Myspace was more customizable. You could do whatever you wanted, and a lot of the time, the pages were designed into shit. 2. Zynga I don't even use Facebook other than monitoring events, never saw the use.
Why did people switch to Facebook anyway.
because there are no ~CusTomIzed~~ pages that crash browsers half the time because they're spammed with skateboard symbols on a pink background with yellow text UGH
Myspace is a disgusting site that'll give you viruses for no reason.
Facebook's a lot less cluttered and a lot more efficient for figuring shit out. And it's good for keeping in touch with people that have moved away, or people you would like to get to know. If social networking sites didn't exist, and you were at home sick, you'd have to constantly talk on the phone with people to chat and keep up, whereas with sites like Facebook and Myspace, it's as easy as signing into a profile.
I read that they cannot add any new features to MySpace because their Microsoft-based content management system is such a mess that no one dares to modify a line of code because it'd break everything.
For music, myspace is still many times superior. Social networking, not so much.
I bet 99.9% of those users were bots.
