• Cannot forward ports no matter what I do.

I've forwarded port 27015 (HL2) through both my router and my DSL modem, but despite doing that all the port checkers tell me that it's not forwarded. I've tried putting my computer in the DMZ with both the router and DSL modem, but it's still not working. What gives? I have a Zyxel 660 for my DSL modem and a Linksys WRT54G2 for my router.
My forwarded ports don't show up as open in port checkers until a program is using them, try running HL2 while you check the port.

What its doing is creating a network in your network: [ [YOU behind linksys] DSL ] -> Internet You need to merely use the linksys as a kind of switch to access the modem exactly. Then you forward only with your modem or whatever you are using as your interface to the internet.

If you need the ip addresses, the router is 192.168.1.1 and the DSL box is 192.168.2.1.
