• New York Jets Teach Portuguese Footballer Cristiano Ronaldo How to Play American Football
The 2014 World Cup in Brazil starts Thursday. To warm up, Cristiano Ronaldo and the Portugal national team have been training at Atlantic Health Jets Training Center, the home of -- you guessed it -- the New York Jets. And while most of the action is focused on the European version of football, Ronaldo and his teammates took some time to try out the American one Monday. The Jets -- namely wide receiver David Nelson -- even taught the superstar how to throw, sort of. (The Jets apparently didn't hold the fact that Portugal shares a group with the U.S. against the visitors.) June 17: After a week of practice, Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates play a scrimmage against the Jets, reportedly winning 56-0.

I'm sure that when they first met David Nelson said "You're playing football right?" and Ronaldo said "Yeah, in the group of death" then Nelson said "Welcome to my world".
Having seen football and played American football, I would imagine they would explode/shatter on impact

this looks like some kind of cheating
If "soccer" is the term for the game in the USA, then how do you call soccer players there? Sorccerers?
If "soccer" is the term for the game in the USA, then how do you call soccer players there? Sorccerers?
We call em pansies [sp]its soccer player[/sp]
Stop it! You'll hurt yourself and then you won't be able to do everything!
Hahah fucking this, this guy pretty much carries his whole damn team and if he gets a lesion everyone freaks the fuck out.

Sorccerers?

soccer players
You just answered yourself there. Really I would say football is unique in the use of the term "footballers." Never seen "basketballers" or "hockeyers" used.
Stop it! You'll hurt yourself and then you won't be able to do everything!
Don't worry. He's training with the Jets. He's in no danger.
Americans should come to Europe to learn how the real game is played (rugby)
Americans should come to Europe to learn how the real game is played (rugby)
No thanks, I would rather appreciate both games as their own sports.
I don't understand why you guys all have to be so confrontational about sports. Can't different countries just practice and play their games without being elitist about other national pastimes? I mean just don't be a dick about it.
