someone?
Have you tried a different account?
(if you don't have multiple accounts just create a temporary one)
this is just to be sure that it isn't your account that is the problem.

what the hell is this 'dududu' sound you're saying
what the hell is this 'dududu' sound you're saying
the failure noise that plays when steam gets something wrong, or if something's not allowed, similar things to that
the low pitched bell noise
did a registry cleanup, fixed my itunes/quicktime problems but steam is still screwing with me
keep uninstalling/reinstalling (clean, deleting valve from the registry and such) as well

Call steam support?
It sounds like a connection problem, stalling steam.
Disable firewalls, run steam as administrator.

I wouldn't believe it to be a connection problem, but hell, I'll try.

Didn't work D:
Using Google I found some relevant problems that other users have (As recent as 2 days ago). Appearantly it could be the new update that is screwing with you. Haven't found a fix yet though.

Aww, shit.
still no reply from steam support
heres an idea that fixed a similar problem for me. Steam doesn't actually hang half the time, windows displays it as not responding (which it is) but in the background steam is crunching numbers for some reason, if you just wait id say at least half the time steam comes good again after a while
so do you mean, after it freezes and closes itself, wait around? Last time it crashed on me I was still sat on my computer, ignoring it, and steam didn't come up.
Ah, if it completely closes then no.
I guess you just have to wait for an update to fix the problem.
:emo:
still screwed

I removed some shitty AV my sister installed on her account called advanced system hospital or some shit. It was blocking everything. iTunes, Steam, everything.
