Computer boot up error everytime I try to get to desktop?

Really need you help smarter techies of FP, I am lost without your guidance. My computer has been failing to load even to desktop before it just reboots itself with a crashing error. I tried booting in safe mode but it froze before it loaded all of my win32 files, so it reboot itself again. I'm at a loss, it tells me to put in my system install disc but since I just moved I can't find the damn thing.
I'm posting this from my android G2 right now and am completely clueless as to what I should do. Any help you guys could give would be greatly appreciated.
Tldr; computer turns on, says status of my hard drive is bad and asks to continue with F1, then gives me a system crash error window asking to boot safe mode etc... after that it attempts to boot up normally until after awhile it just reboots itself.
Because you can't get into windows, I think it might be a problem to fix this. Do you have another computer where you can fix something to boot from?
The only other 'computer' I have immediate access to is my G2. Its 1ghz processor does the job but my tower is sitting next to me lifeless. :smith:
What did you have in mind?
Well, maybe put something you can boot from on a disc or maybe a USB drive
Right now I'm not even sure what the actual windows OS was, I know it was vista ultimate, but other than that... nada. Would it be problematic for me if I were to try and boot up a different windows like windows 7? Or do I need my original os?
If you try to boot up something else I think you will have to reinstall your OS. If you have stuff you want to save, then just install windows without formating, so you have your old files left, and after you have copied it you simply swipe the computer and put a new OS in :)
