The storyline was definitely much darker than the first one, and it easily wasn't nearly as funny. Through-out the whole movie the whole crowd probably laughed twice. Usually it was just one or two people in the back that would laugh at an unfunny joke. But i'm not going to write a whole review on the movie, cause that's not my job, and I bet you certainly would care much less about my opinion than that of a movie critic.
But something that kept coming up over and over in this movie is Tigress Vs. Po. Firstly, for those who have seen the first movie, Po is the dragon warrior. That means he is the baddest of the freaking bad. He defeated Tai Lung, the main antagonist of Kung Fu Panda, when no one else, even his master, could. But in the second movie, Tigress repeatedly bests Po in combat. If Tigress couldn't defeat Tai Lung in the first one, why is she suddenly so much more powerful than Po? Po fails to even land a punch on her when he tries his hardest.
Does this bug anyone else who saw the movie?
probably going to see it in a few days, just for shits and giggles with some friends.
Looks terrible.
i dont usually care about ratings but both movies got great reviews, even moreso the sequel. thats an accomplishment, i should probably see them some time
I liked the 1st one, I'm just waiting for more reviews as to whether or not I should see it...
Agrees=go spend $20 at the movies
Disagrees=stay home

informative= thanks for telling us you have no freedom of will, to let random people tell you what to watch and not watch.
I thought it was an alright movie. There were some funny parts that the whole theater laughed at including myself and some friends. The movie certainly did not come close to the first but it isn't a bad sequel.
I thought it was pretty good and me and my friends definitely laughed more than a couple of times.
We're 17/18 but apparently not so mature as most of us giggled at Mantis's line about mating.
liked it, a lot more action than the first one.
A lot more serious than the other movie, but I still loved it. It is a worthy sequel.
i thought the story was great but it wasnt as funny as the first. so not worth the 10$ a ticket wait for a 5$ ticket then its completely worth it (if you have that in your city)
I liked it, a lot. Story was good, and the theatre laughed at a lot of points (even though, midday on a Wednesday, about 8 other people in a 300 seat theatre).
Of course, this review may be skewed by the fact that the four of us got in, only paying £5, and then sneaked into the premier seating.
Anyway yeah, story was emotional at times, funny at others, and.. I'd give it a solid 8/10. But I'm not a professional critic, so don't quote me.

Really liked that Peacock character too. He was great.
I saw it at the drive-in before Thor. Kung-Fu Panda 2 was better.
The thing you mentioned in the OP didn't bug me, I sort of thought of it as that Po's style was particularly good against Tai-Lung in the first one.
I liked the first one, still haven't seen the second.
Too bad Dream Works is going to run it into the ground with another 4 sequels.
My 14 year old cousin has severe cerebral palsy. A couple of years ago the make a wish foundation contacted his family and asked if he wanted anything. His biggest wish ever was to meet Jack Black. He is a huge fan of all of Jack Black's movies.
Anyway they called up a few months ago and asked if they were willing to fly up to Sydney (We live in Australia) for the premiere of Kung Fu Panda 2.
So anyway, they flew up hung out with Jack Black for an hour or so (Apparently Jack Black is a really awesome guy). Then they walked down the red carpet with the stars, got a few photos with Jack and saw the Australian premiere screening.
Thought that was pretty awesome.

I'd be happy if they left the series here. End on a fairly good note, you know? Unlike what they did with Shrek.

well heres the thing. They didnt plan on having so many sequels to shrek, which is why each one sucked complete dick since they were hastily made. Kung fu panda on the other hand clearly has a path that they have already planned out. I mean you aren't gonna say you are gonna have 6 movies if you dont have something already planned out. So hopefully they wont follow the same fate as shrek.
Another thing, shrek is a movie that is based on shitty pop culture references. There is only so much you can stretch out into all of those movies.

I think you're giving the suits in charge at Dream Works way too much credit.
doesnt matter what i think, i'll watch it anyway
