It's like trying to plug an ants nest with a tooth pick, you can't win.
Funny how all these blocks seem to draw more and more attention to TPB.
They seriously banned proxy sites too? That's crazy. Pretty sure I'd feel as if my rights were being undermined if things started getting blocked on my connection. Is it illegal to look at a stolen car? Is it illegal to look at the pirate bay? :|
Wait what it was blocked on BT too? I'm on BT and it's been unblocked on my end ever since they confirmed the block :v: gg BT
Funny how all these blocks seem to draw more and more attention to TPB.
It's just like the Streisand effect :v:
It got blocked on my connection sometime in the last few days.... however I found several simple work arounds, the first is that the 100's of pirate bay alternate domains... https://tpb.pir*teparty.org.uk (I put a star in there so that link won't work, I'm sure you can figure it out) for example works fine. The second is to use opendns or some other dns servers, the third is just to pop the ip address into the browser and bang, it works. Here's the onion link: http://jntlesnev5o7zysa.onion

There is no hope. :suicide:
Wow, URL blocking from Britain's largest ISP. There is no hope. :suicide:
FYI BT were infact the last ISP to block Piratebay, even Be (one of the best ISP's around) had to block it before BT
FYI BT were infact the last ISP to block Piratebay, even Be (one of the best ISP's around) had to block it before BT
I was over the fact they blocked it, was commenting on the fact they are blocking by URL. That's pathetic...
Still works on Plus.net which is odd because they're a BT subsidiary, too bad they're still fucking shit.
Wait what it was blocked on BT too? I'm on BT and it's been unblocked on my end ever since they confirmed the block :v: gg BT
I wouldn't be surprised if BT made it that way. None of the ISPs supported this decision, they were forced to implement these blocks, and they don't deserve the abuse they're getting from other people.
I have been able to use it all the way up until yesterday on BT.
Wow, URL blocking from Britain's largest ISP. There is no hope. :suicide:
They were forced to by court order, they didnt want to.
BT are likely still rolling out the block, all my friends got blocked at different times and days. So if you're still able to access it then it probably won't be for long.
I can still access it using mirrors
1. Google 'pirate bay mirrors' 2. Click first result 3. http://www.ichi.co.uk/post/22269260925/bypassing-the-uk-pirate-bay-blocks-via-proxies-mirrors
Fuck i'm Block but yesterday was fine. Government is trying to copy china to decrease the internet.

I'm on virgin, I just changed the DNS servers to google's and it's been working ever since.
quote in a quote
aka "This is what we'll say so we don't look like bad guys" TPB is first and foremost a pirate site. They are not a filesharing website. They do not respond to takedown requests, they flaunt and ridicule them. They do not promote legal torrents. They promote pirated material. They are not a force of good. They are not fighting the good fight. They are not fighting a corrupt industry. They are promoting their own agenda towards a lawless internet where you can pirate without repercussion.
I'm on virgin, I just changed the DNS servers to google's and it's been working ever since.
Next up, Google is ordered by the UK and US courts to block Pirate Bay.
I'm on virgin, I just changed the DNS servers to google's and it's been working ever since.
This doesn't work on TalkTalk sadly. But, alas... https://piratereverse.info/ Bam.
You can edit your hosts file to unblock TPB. Just add this line: 194.71.107.82 thepiratebay.se I tried the proxies and altho they do the job, I can't change the view from double to single on the search results page. Also this method allows you to click on links to TPB without having to copy it into a proxy. Don't know how long till the new IPs are blocked but when they are TPB plan to enable new ones. Probably .84, .85, .86, etc. There's an article about it here: http://www.fudzilla.com/home/item/27600-pirate-bay-wars-continue

How about instead of trying to ban and/or block access to one torrent site you instead stop trying to screw with the free and open nature of the internet, tell the record industry to bugger off, and let the already established software piracy departments handle it? Come on world governments. It isn't a difficult concept.
https://tpb.pir*teparty.org.uk (I put a star in there so that link won't work, I'm sure you can figure it out)
Worked fine for me even with the star in it :v:
