I've kinda put these in chronological order, so the not as great ones are first.
I also draw kinda smallish, my sketchpad is only about the size of a DS.
Anyway, I'm not the best drawer in the world, but what do you people think?

Sometimes, I dream about an oppressive alien force that took away my freedom.
These aren't particularly bad, but the legs and hands look a bit strange on most of them. There's other stuff too, but they'll probably get better with practice.
Also, you posted ponies. Expect a shitstorm.
Yeah, legs and hands, mostly hands, are the two things I struggle the most with.
I draw something new at-least every day, so I guess that counts as practice.
Obligatory "study anatomy"
They're not good. You've still got a lot to learn, really. Some these remind me of the way I drew back when I was 9.
Stop trying to draw cartoony characters and focus more on making more realistic line work, proportions, shading, etc... well, that is, if you're actually interested in REAL drawing. Once you get the basics settled THEN you can choose to return to cartoonish stuff, and with 100000x better results. Trust me.

I assume the "I'm self taught" excuse doesn't fly huh?
Yeah I was planning on doing that once I head off to collage. It'll probably help me greatly.

and actually improve

No no, I know these aren't amazing.
The reason I posted these here is that 99% of face-punch members are harsh, brutal, but completely honest critics.
It's one of the ways I can find the faults in what I do.
Also the whole "don't draw cartoony until you draw realistic." I went through 3 years of a 2D art class, all they did was realistic sketches and what not.
So I would like specifics on why these aren't so great though, what I can improve on, etc.

I'm "self taught", seesh
Just "self teach" yourself some anatomy. It's as simple as looking at a body..
Though you can, as always, improve, I actually like these. They have a charm and character. I particularly like Winstein P. Sqweg III (I never figured I'd say that in my life!).
What I personally did with my doodles was to scan them into my computer and evaluate which of my lines weren't necessary. Then I drew over them and coloured them in Paint.NET, which also helped a bit with learning proportions. I may be an amateur doodler, but to summarise I like your style and you have great potential.
Sorin, I partially disagree. "Real" drawing is finding your style and evolving it. I personally prefer to draw in a cartoony style, but I guess it boils down to personal preference of what you want your audience to see.

That was more of a joke man.
Normally I draw this stuff during class, so I can't exactly get a reference.

No, I'm mostly joking, too. Hope I'm not coming off as too much of a dick
'Class' entails that there are multiple bodies around you to study, just don't let them catch you. I've found this to be more than awkward on multiple occasions. Also, this is a good time to learn how fabric folds and hangs on people's bodies.

Your lines are very jagged and messy, proportions are odd looking (even for cartoons), and they're overall not really visually pleasing. I hate jumping to conclusions, but it looks to me that you need to work on how your hand moves across the paper with pencil-in-hand along with how you give a cartoony touch to details, such as shoelaces, stitching, folds in clothing, etc.

Yeah that's a good point, never thought of that.
And yeah, stuff with fabric and clothing I know I really need some work on.

I really hate blaming this, it makes me feel like I'm taking no credit for my mistakes but, my scanner SEVERELY exaggerates sketchy lines and eraser remnants.
If you actually look at my stuff in person you barely notice any of that.
Sometimes I do mess with some proportions on purpose and when I finish the drawing past the point of no return I look it over and go "Oh goddammit why did I do that?"
We all can be a bit of an idiot at times.
And detailing is something I really am trying to work on, I have a separate sketch book where I've been drawing closeups of folds in clothing, shoes, and all that other good stuff.

Classic refuge argument of a shitty underachiever

Kata, you should read the whole Creative Work thread from start to finish. After that you could probably give your own work all the criticism it needs to be getting on with.
