After going to the movies with my dad, me, my brother, and my sister, we got into the car and found that it refused to start, even we are aware that the battery was charged, hence that the car did not display any errors on the dash besides the seat belts, you could hear the car do its turn over as if it was working as normal. Then the car stated a transmission fault, being P, N, D1, D2, etc. on the screen (not dash) would be turned on when the brake is not on while turning gears and would cause the car to bug-out and gear oddly, but this was common and was fixed by restarting the car.
After some time, the car started without reason why and drove off.
So I would like to know what just happened.
To state, this was my dads car if you did not notice
Side notes:
My bother worked for the Army and worked as a mechanic, he thinks that 2 components could be sending power/data through the same cable, but opposing directions.
Oh herp derp derp, I forgot to add "starting problems" to the title.
Hmm, what year, it helps to know between 2010 and 1965

I think its make is a 2008-2007.
I can't contact my dad right now to see.
It's probably the computer, you need to go to the dealer mechanic, tell them to check it out, because those BMW's are computerized.
My Eclipse used to do that and it was corrosion on the negative post not getting a good connection. v:v:v Had to clean it every so often.
