I usually play Jazz, Progressive (Think of Dream Theater or Rush), and some Metal.

For fucks sake, even the Forums are higher quality than the sound checks.
If you need a kit with cymbals, then I recommend saving another $200 and getting a Pearl Vision kit with zome ZBT or B8 set.
If this is your first then DON'T invest in a Vision that is plain stupid. I would stick to what you picked but also look around.

go and check craigs list there is always some broke ass musician selling there gear because they have to get a reall job. no lie you can find some good stuff on there sometimes.

I got a vision set as my first. It's awesome. Actualll my first drumkit was a very old one which I don't remember the name of, which I played twice and sold and didn't play drums for a few years. Then I got the Vision.
