Not to stir controversy right from the first comment, but wouldn't we be better off just aiding the game for what it is? Do we really need to attach Jennifer Helper to it like she's some sort of icon after whole Dragon Age II debacle? That's just asking for people to tell the game to fuck off after the gigantic hatewagon she's assembled.
She's a terrible writer and that's that.

Jennifer Hepler, the writer behind some of BioWare’s most memorable characters and storylines
No, she wasn't. She briefly worked on DA:O, then on DA2 and SWTOR, the latter being laughable
Doesn't she hate games
Yeah she said in an interview she doesn't like video games as a form of media/doesn't enjoy them personally either

Didn't she work on ME3 as well?
Didn't she work on ME3 as well?
Don't believe so, but her brother did.
Didn't she work on ME3 as well?
I think so, if I remember correctly her last job with Bioware was writing for Dragon Age: Inquisition.
Didn't she work on ME3 as well?
I think it was Mac Walters.
250k to hire Jennifer helper? Shes pretty pricey.
Are people still saying she left because of death threats?
She left to become independent and to write a book.
She's not even guaranteed to work on it, they made her involvement a stretch goal. Who does that??
Are people still saying she left because of death threats?

Oh God. Her first book/graphic novel M.I.T.H. was absolutely atrocious. I wish I would've saved some pages from when it was paraded around /v/ and /tg/ during the DA2 fiasco.
Shes a bad writer but that doesn't justify the internet going on a witch hunt whenever she tries to do something. Losing your job at a big game dev is punishment enough.
oh sorry i mean more like hamburger helper amirightguys
Funny X300
She's a terrible writer and that's that.
People who enjoyed the Dwarf origin in DA:O and those who enjoyed one of the smuggler romances in SWTOR would disagree.

So Mass Effect 2.0?
She left the industry because of death threats a few weeks ago, why's she back already?
She left the industry because of death threats a few weeks ago, why's she back already?
She left to work on a book.
why the fuck would you make that a stretch goal? who would want to raise money towards making the game suck?
Unfortunately she's going to be getting money from white knights and womyn despite being a terrible writer that was responsible for some of the worst decisions in both gameplay and the story line .
So Mass Effect 2.0?
no garrusfu
no space romance simulatore

Please tell me this is sarcasm.

And?
This doesn't affect you, does it? What concern is it of yours that someone throws their money at this?
Oh, and how/when did she affect gameplay in any way?
Remember she was the only writer that worked on mass effect 3 and dragon age 2 and thus is personally responsible for everything wrong with those games.
No one else works at Bioware

Because writers that are absolutely fucking amazing get shafted while she gets away with it for playing the victimization card. Yeah, she was targeted and the things people did were despicable but there was a reason for it and I'm glad she quit the company.
Remember when she wanted to have a "skip gameplay button"? Remember she never played the games?
I'm really terrible at so many things which most games use incessantly. I have awful hand-eye coordination, I don't like tactics, I don't like fighting, I don't like keeping track of inventory, and I can't read game map to save my life.

It's like when great actors get cast into a bad movie. You can only do so much with the material you're given. That was the material the developers were given and surprise surprise, it disappointed a lot of people. She started off in a pretty minor role with Dragon Age Origins but she was promoted to Senior Writer while working on Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 3.
She definitely had a major influence over those last two titles and look how the reaction to both.
Jennifer Hepler is a terrible writer and if these people are actually planning on getting good feedback from her involvement they are idiotic and their game deserves to bomb.
She definitely had a major influence over those last two titles and look how the reaction to both.
That's a bit naive. Her input may have contributed in some way to the simplified gameplay of those titles, but at the end of the day it was the suits upstairs who decided that they wanted to appeal to wider audience in order to make more money. It's completely unfair to put any sort of significant blame on her for that.
She left the industry because of death threats a few weeks ago, why's she back already?
That was only a part of her decision to leave Bioware- not the industry. And death threats being a reason had the shit sensationlized out of it. She mostly wanted to pursue other opportunities.
Hamburgerhelper makes a new meal
She left to work on a book.
Hamburger helper is BACK
