The announcement rules out a head-to-head clash with Labour leader Ed Miliband ahead of the May 7 poll. Downing Street said it was a "final offer" and criticised the "chaos" of the negotiating process.
I always seem to get the impression that most Brits don't seem to like David Cameron. I take it the older demographics are keeping his political career alive?
I always seem to get the impression that most Brits don't seem to like David Cameron. I take it the older demographics are keeping his political career alive?
we dont like any politicians
The only reason the negotiation process has been chaotic is because Cameron has been arsing around so much on the subject.
The only reason the negotiation process has been chaotic is because Cameron has been arsing around so much on the subject.
I think the whole setup has been pretty much screwed around by the media. The whole argument about which parties were 'more worthy' than the others was doomed to start. You can't have UKiP without the Greens, or Greens without the SNP. Don't forget the Welsh parties!
Seven party leaders will be an absolute clusterfuck. Just politicians trying to fit their soundbites in over the top of one another; no real debating. David Cameron though, what a maverick!
I think this is a very well calculated gamble by Cameron. People don't care as much as debates as we think they do (particularly when less well established as in the UK) and so only appearing in a messy, chaotic seven person debate will benefit him a lot more compared to real scrutiny in a 1 on 1 debate with Milliband.
I always seem to get the impression that most Brits don't seem to like David Cameron. I take it the older demographics are keeping his political career alive?
I was only really interested in Nick Clegg. Then he fucked us students about.
I always seem to get the impression that most Brits don't seem to like David Cameron. I take it the older demographics are keeping his political career alive?
To most people I know Nick Clegg's either Mr.Nobody or a spineless weasel, David Cameron is a spineless weasel, and Ed Milliband's nothing original, he's just your standard political prat who happens to look like Wallace, oh, and is probably a spineless weasel too
Hey, look at the bright side, at least you guys have a NHS. In America, we often hate our politicians, but often in groups. But every big politician seems to have a few groups backing them.
I always seem to get the impression that most Brits don't seem to like David Cameron. I take it the older demographics are keeping his political career alive?
According to the polls, he's still by far the most popular party leader.
im guessing you dont know what five finger fillet is
I just Googled it. That statement makes more sense now.
Hardly surprising, Cameron only wants to attend two of the three but can't get away with picking and choosing. The 7 leader debate would be a walk in the park; the SNP and Greens would just squabble with Labour and the Lib Dems. Likewise the 2 leader debate would be easy, David Cameron is really good in PMQs whereas Ed Miliband is shambolic. The problem is the 3 leader debate, it would essentially be the Lib Dems and Labour teaming up against the Conservatives.
Given that the leader debates were a waste of time last time round I'm not going to get too worked up about it if they're not here. They're just PR exercises, and politics needs less PR not more. Lets see. David Cameron - PM, buggers things up but manages to appear mostly statesman like and the economy while taking longer than expected to recover, is doing pretty well. Pretty much the only thing he was elected for. Nick Clegg - Gets a bad rap for the student tuition thing but I can't blame him too much for that. Makes silly noises about the Nuclear deterrent. Ed Miliband - Ineffectual fool who will jump at any opportunity no matter how obscene to score political points. Invents crises then forgets about them when they don't turn out to be so much of a problem. Nigel Farage - I've got a lot of time for Big Nige, seems like a fairly reasonable bloke. Makes a lot of ridiculous claims about the EU. Unfortunately his party are nuts and therefore will thankfully never be elected. Natalie Bennett - A waste of air time. SNP/Plaid Cymu - Eh. These parties appear more interested in breaking up political unions than preserving them, which is just a step backwards in progression. No time for it. Either way the lot of them are too concerned with political point scoring. I fear after the next election we're going to see a coalition of the losers with Ed Miliband at the helm. If it wasn't so serious it'd be funny.
I just hope that the BNP and UKIP don't get a foot in the door, rather take fuckwits over complete nutjobs running the country.
I agree with Cameron. News outlets keep showing the clip from 7 years ago when he was in Opposition asking Gordon Brown for a 1 on 1 debate. Times have changed. It's clear that you can no longer have just two parties on their debate. I'd much rather see a good representation of what's on offer than a couple the majority are disillusioned with. He could be bullshitting, but still...
I always seem to get the impression that most Brits don't seem to like David Cameron. I take it the older demographics are keeping his political career alive?
The British are in love with the status quo, so politicians are scared to take any risks nowadays. Pretty much the only ones who do are the ones who go so far that you can't even vote for them. The Labour and Conservative parties are approaching total equilibrium, and the Lib Dems are a laughing stock because of tuition fees. UKIP are popular with some people, but some of their more extreme policies put the majority of the country off. Same thing with the Greens. Essentially, we're all expecting another coalition in May. Perhaps Cameron wants to do it this way because he knows Miliband would be crap at it.
