At least they finished their game lmao Still shitty but Dean is full of shit and has no right to criticize anyone after dayz
He's completely right, though.
At least they finished their game lmao
If 'ark' is a finished game then wow what the fuck lmao Are we calling anything that is 'released' as 'finished' now regardless of content involved
I'd just like to thank the ARK devs for giving me even more reason to never buy their game I didn't even know people still played it, it felt like a flavor of the month that had dried up but apparently it's still in the top 10 by players?
I'm willing to bet its mostly just kids following youtubers tbh
That doesn't make a difference when it comes to devs wallets, and it's been a top game for months.
It took me way too long to realize they said it jumped in price a month before release, not that it jumped to $60 a month, before release.
If 'arc' is a finished game then wow what the fuck lmao Are we calling anything that is 'released' as 'finished' now regardless of content involved
Have... Have you even played the game? It's absolutely huge and has loads of stuff to do... I've played so many hours and find it fun as hell despite whatever technical issues seem to have tainted your opinion.

I've played so many hours and find it fun as hell despite whatever technical issues seem to have tainted your opinion.
The game runs about as well as a paralyzed person. The game might have the best content in the world, but the me that managed to play Saints Row 2 at 15 FPS and GTAIV at 20 hasn't existed for a long time, and I couldn't really complain because I was playing the former for free and the latter only cost me $2. $60 for Ark is a fucking joke. Dishonored 2 would've been a fantastic game if it didn't run like shit, Arkham Knight would've been a solid run-of-the-mill Batman game if it didn't run like shit, Fallout 4 would've been a better game if it didn't run like shit. Ark could be a great game, if only [sp]it didn't run like shit[/sp].
I know several people who bought it on console and still play it. I really don't get why because apparently it runs like shit even on console.
I know several people who bought it on console and still play it. I really don't get why because apparently it runs like shit even on console.
That seems like such an impressive feat.
dunno, I had fun on this game with friends, it's not even riddled with bugs or anything, it's fun. Not worth $60 probably, but what a fucking hypocrite Dean Hall is, is DayZ standalone even caught up to the features in the mod yet since he abandoned it?
Last I heard of it (some years ago, so things may have changed), they had removed zombies because they did not know how to fix a certain error.
He's completely right, though.
Not really, people that buy in early access don't get the same value because it's a gamble, you don't know if the product is going to be good, when the game comes out it's not a gamble anymore because it's done.
Last I heard of it (some years ago, so things may have changed), they had removed zombies because they did not know how to fix a certain error.
Iirc they couldn't get the zombies to stop running with sanic animations AND they couldn't get them to stop phasing through walls n shit to hit people. [editline]8th July 2017[/editline] It was also the first method people used to see if someone was or had been in an area. If the server spawned zombies, it was because players were nearby.
I'm willing to bet its mostly just kids following youtubers tbh
It's pretty fun, I enjoyed myself playing with my mates. Better than the snoozefest that is Dayz
my cousins in his late 20s, all he does is get home from work and play ark
Mostly, not all if rust is anything to go by survival games are flooded with shithead kids [editline]8th July 2017[/editline]
Ark could be a great game, if only [sp]it didn't run like shit[/sp].
didn't they work on content 'updates' over optimizing the game? Why would anyone trust devs that release paid DLC before optimization for a pre-release game, to fix the game
Iirc they couldn't get the zombies to stop running with sanic animations AND they couldn't get them to stop phasing through walls n shit to hit people.
In Arma 3, if you go into the editor and place buildings down for a mission and set them to be Simple Objects (basically disabling damage simulation, physics sim, etc.) in an effort to reduce the lag overhead, AI will walk right through Simple Objects. Arma 3 is also famous for having a huge variance in its performance; on the same machine with the same number of players, you can get 60-80fps out of a well-designed mission, or a bad mission with a solid 15fps all the time once AI are active. I wouldn't be surprised if it was something like that. Either give every tree, rock, fence, and anything with walls a new bunch of metadata to prevent AI from pathfinding through it (and eat the huge performance penalty), or just dummy out the problem, zombies in this case.
if rust is anything to go by survival games are flooded with shithead kids
Any popular game is flooded with shithead kids now. PC gaming is mainstream again, but now computers and broadband are powerful enough to support voice in almost everything even when it doesn't warrant it. There was a thread in the old official Xbox Live "please unban me" subforum where some kid got his gamertag permabanned from XBL and his "mom" wrote a thread demanding an explanation because her sweet innocent 14-year-old boy is a good Christian and wouldn't EVER do anything wrong. The XBLA enforcement team member responded by explaining that he was exposing his genitals to people via the webcam-avatar function in UNO. :v: In fact, just by doing a Google Image Search for "xbox live uno" I found a similar result (mildly NSFW) in the top 30. :v: So, yeah, welcome to the new age of the Internet: the preteens have busted out of Neopets and Minecraft and they have their own Steam accounts and have figured out how to set their microphone settings.
That seems like such an impressive feat.
Games running poorly on console is a pretty regular thing. It's rare they're ever capable of running at 60 FPS in the first place and framedrops aren't exactly unheard of when things get hectic.
