he's an AMAZING director... but at effects and stuff like that, scene builds. Terrible director when it comes to plot and character, like you said.

imho though sadly he's a pretty mundane, 'he's ok' tier director when you average everything out.

I wish he did coop work. Have someone who excels with characters and story and Cameron working entirely on effects and plot.

For the majority of the movie he's actually not being crazy (Travolta is) and his performance of Archer-as-Troy is legit great
that being said, the first act has some of the greatest over-acting ever seen
