I know, iTunes sucks, but please, help me out here. I had to reorganise my library and in the process deleted my purchased music files. I know that all I need to do is to click "Check for available downloads," but, when I do, some of my purchases do not download as it says "All purchases have been downloaded for this account." Help!

I've done that. Makes no difference sadly.
You can't get them back. It's just how iTunes works.

try deauthorize, then authorize again.
this is why i don't buy off of itunes.
and i didnt use itunes either, but 9.0 has a better skin, so i hate it less now.

I don't believe you. I bought the music on an account. (about £20 worth,) and I can't download them? Do they expire or something? I've re-downloaded purchases in the past.

you can only reactivate them on 5 PC's or something
anyways, to remove the DRM, burn to a CD, then copy back to the computer. ( i know that won't help now)
You can't redownload songs after you've already downloaded them.
This is DRM, it's designed to stop piracy.
And to stop people from actually buying music.

if you bought it you're allowed to burn it to a CD
it just so happens burning it makes it remove DRM.
also, i agree.
