Right at my High School guys:
GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. —An Upstate teacher and athletic director has resigned after she was charged with committing a lewd act on a child, among other charges, according to the school district and deputies. Deputies said on July 30, the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible sexual assault of a former student at Blue Ridge Middle School that occurred between January 1995 and January 1996. The investigation revealed that Sherri McCall Windsor was employed at Blue Ridge Middle School during the time the incident occurred as a teacher, cheerleading coach and math tutor, deputies said. Deputies say the victim was 13 years old and an eighth-grade student at the school and developed a relationship with Windsor while being tutored by her. Investigators said they learned of at least one instance where Windsor kissed and inappropriately touched the victim while taking him home. This incident occurred in her vehicle and not on school property, deputies said. They said Windsor was aware of the age of the victim at the time due to him being one of her students. "a lewd act on a child, among other charges" Why is it the media only calls it rape if the perpetrator was male? Otherwise it's "lewd conduct" or other bullshit.

And they're doing something about it now after like 17 years?

Otherwise it's "lewd conduct" or other bullshit.
Because they're using the legal definition(more likely than not) of rape...rape = unwanted penetration orally, anally, or vaginally (in the slightest), "lewd act" = unwanted sexual contact without penetration. Both are types of sexual assault.
Gotta love living up here, and the bonds 23k
Why am I not surprised by this kind of behavior around here. It seems like there is always some sex related charges dealing with teachers happening around the Greenville area. I mean maybe just a couple years ago the band director at Greenwood High School got fired for banging the art teacher in the Gym. Even a few years before that, the head cheerleader coach at Ware Shoals got drunk with her team and I guess fucked one of the students.
