Where/who exactly do you go to to expand your musical tastes?
Game soundtracks (GTA, FIFA etc) Sometimes the radio Sometimes from my friends
Blogs, friends, forums, etc.
Music Discussions and People. Sometimes Youtube.
Blogs and AMG, mainly. Allmusic is amazing for this, with their similar artists lists, influenced by, genre lists, etc etc. I've found so much obscure cool shit from there.
Last.fm It has helped me ALOT. But also some music promotion sites, like stopthenoise or dödselectro where they get contacted by artists.
I use the Encyclopaedia Metallum exclusively. Though rarely (and I mean rarely), I'll find a band that sounds interesting in a related video to a video I watched of a band I found in the EM that turns out to be pretty good. That's how I found Embryo and Blind Stare, along with one or two others that are now my favorites ever.

It's good for giving a decent idea of things like the genre and how well received a band generally is but the reviews are mostly very biased and their genres aren't always correct.

I just use it to find the bands. Then I listen to them myself, and form my own opinion. And I've yet to find a real genre issue, and I've listened to a lot of bands I found from them.

I was just saying, take everything you read there with a grain of salt.
trackitdown, beatsport and through friends
Largely Last.fm But also lots of other places here and there.
Spotify. I don't know what to vote based on that.
Friends mostly. But also by following similar artists on Last.fm and watching videos for music listed under suggestions when I'm listening to my music on Youtube. Or when I see there are new albums on Spotify maybe. I just follow links to any band, when I'm feeling open minded. I also sometimes browse this forum too, and just watch listen to stuff people post.
Last.fm is a godsend.
Last.FM and my friends.
Pandora.. Seriously, why isn't that in the poll?
Speaking of finding music, anyone have an idea as to how I could go about finding this album: http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:jnfexqlkldte ? By it's nature it's pretty much unsearchable, since * is a wildcard character. *O 0.0 in google just gives me a bunch of shit, nothing on Amazon, discogs (searching for it gives an error), youtube, last.fm, or anywhere else. Along with that, I have no info on it besides the fact that it's glitch/microsound. On a lighter note, I found this searching for it: http://www.last.fm/music/%EF%BF%BD%EF%BF%BD0+x%EF%BF%BD%EF%BF%BD+h%EF%BF%BD7+8%EF%BF%BD0++%EF%BF%BD%7C/%EF%BF%BD%EF%BF%BD0+x%EF%BF%BD%EF%BF%BD+h%EF%BF%BD7+8%EF%BF%BD0++%EF%BF%BD%7C :wtc:
I use Youtube the most, but every now and then, I'll use last.fm or music sections on forums.
Last.fm, lambgoat and theB9 sometimes, and if I'm getting into a totally new genre, Wikipedia to get started with the essentials.
Largely Last.FM, using the neighbours / recommended stations. One or two from YouTube, browsing the channels of Nuclear Blast and similar. Found a few bands from Facepunch. I found Sonata Arctica from Facepunch since someone posted the video to Paid in Full. That band started my love of Power Metal which is now the majority of my music collection. Don't know who posted it, but, if you're reading this, thanks.
Blogs, forums, and last.fm.
Mainly: http://www.progarchives.com/ lolprogrock
Mainfactor is probably reasearch (wikipedia, other sites, movies, documentaries and stuff) but I also find alot on Youtube, Friends, Discussions and have found some on the radio and music store.
A friend will suggest a band/song and I'll look it up on youtube looking at related videos.
I've used this site for metal I use reddit for dubstep/dnb/breakcore/ other underground electronic genre's Last.fm to look at the popular artists in a certain genre, and similar artists.

I wish I had friends I could ask for new bands. Unfortunately, I'm the one recommending new bands to all my friends. :v:
Magazines (Q, NME, etc.), last.fm recommendations, grooveshark.com, friends, and other places but with less frequency.
mostly from friends
