• Computer starts, turns off, then starts normally

Ok here is my problem, 1. I turn on PC 2. Computer "clicks off" 3. I don't press anything, wait about 6 seconds 4. Computer clicks on and boots normally with no problems Motherboard: Asus Sabretooth P67 CPU: i5-2500k GPU: ATI 6870 1GB GDDR5 My bios is updated, still the same problem. RAM: 4gb DDR3 aData (overclocked from motherboard's default 1300mhz to the ram's ability of 1600mhz)
What power supply do you have?
750 watt XFX Black Edition http://xfxforce.com/en-us/products/psu/black-edition/p1-750b-cag9.aspx
This happens to me too on Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R v2 on first boot when being connected back to mains does it and also after applying new overclocks.
If your remove the overclock does it still do it?
One of two things can be happening: 1) The OC settings failed so the board rebooted itself with failsafe values (many boards do this.) 2) The board has to power off/on to apply OC settings (Gigabyte boards do this, unsure about Asus.) The only thing I can recommend is check the RAM voltages and make sure they're set properly. The sticks may run at the default 1333 MHz fine at default voltage, but become unreliable at 1600 MHz due to improper voltages.
If your remove the overclock does it still do it?
If that was a question to me. Yes it does that when i connect computer back to mains after it's been disconnected even without overclock and well the why it does that when applying new Overclocks was explained by above post. But to the OP, i doubt it's nothing to worry about if everything else works correctly though.
Have you tried removing the bios battery?
I have not tried any of the above, but if the OC was failing, then why does it still work after? What I mean is, my CPU is OC'd to 4ghz and so if the OC was failing, would it then reset to default, then boot up and the OC would be gone? Or wouldn't I get an OC fail message? Because it turns on, clicks off, and then turns on fine and I check my speed with CPU-Z and it says it's 4ghz! So the OC did work...or maybe there is a reason? Edit: But I do suspect overclocks are the issues. Lemme try it. Ok I did this and it appears to be booting normally no matter what I do. I should've mentioned this earlier but sometimes I get an error saying my RAM overclock failed I find this stupid since I'm just putting it to the RAM's ability of 1600mhz and changing it from the motherboard's default memory speed setting of 1300mhz In which case I reboot and sometimes it boots normally, or it clicks off then clicks on and boots fine with all overclocks staying the same
