It's funny how they could have avoided all of the backlash if they just released the game as a 20$ early access title with promise for future content. But no, they had to be greedy fucks, ask full price for an unfinished product and then sat in complete silence for almost half a year while people understandibly were pissed off about being scammed.
It's cool that they decided to stick through with it and actually work on this game, but if you support this, your essentially saying it's OK for developers to release unfinished games.
its actually disgusting how that company operates
I have to say, this looks like it's a lot bigger than what I expected, and came a lot faster, too. Could this be hope?

I feel it's worth pointing out they've been quite hyperbolic about patches before.
Yay, thanks for this update HelloGames, surely it was what the game needed in the first place.
I might as well re-install and try, no harm in doing so
To be honest the update looks interesting
still hate sean tho
Still no update on my steam? i don't get it
It's nice to see that they want to fix things, but I think it's gonna be near impossible to recover from the damage they did to themselves.
Right now I'm not interested yet, but they're making good progress.

I guess they lied again.
Or it just isn't out for PC yet.
Wait hold on.. dead planets? Like there's actually gonna be dead planets with no buildings, no damn robots and no alien traders? Would like to have more info that. I want space to be actually space where there's almost no life anywhere.
Scanning planets? That's pretty cool
Freighter indoor customization? Unexpected and cool also
Temporal Anti-Aliasing? lol, no thx. As if the game wasn't blurry enough.
At least it's in right track.
Fuck yes!:godzing:
My only issue was their radio silence following all the controversy.

From the looks of it they've just updated the experimental branch and public branch which are linked meaning the update is now out yes.
I want this game to be good. I reeeealy want to play it. I just have to wait for a huge flash sale I guess

I don't think it's inherently bad.
Isn't the whole point of the game that you're supposed to be always travelling? Don't see how base-building serves the central vision.

Well, that's pretty much what they (or at least Sean) said about the idea too. I think getting nitpicky about not wanting to do certain things is one of the reasons why the game is in its current state of disappointment. Too much "Ehhh, its not what weeeee want to do though" and not enough "What's actually fun for the player?"
I think that they hit a nice balance though, at least from what I've read from the patch notes. Because you can instantly teleport back and forth to the base from Space Stations, that means planting a home base doesn't mean having to stay in one place forever. It just means you have a place to accumulate stuff, especially if the recruitable NPCs and growable crops add a lot to the experience. You still travel around to different star systems, and as someone who spent 20+ hours just holding down the trigger to gather valuable minerals so I could buy a better ship....fuck yes to automated mining and giant freighters to store it all.
Always thought a "Home" planet would've been neat. Maybe i'll pick this up soon.
So, you build a base on a planet, you decide to take off, doesn't that mean your base also gets wiped? Always thought a "Home" planet would've been neat.
No, the base stays forever. You can get there from any space station once you set it up. You can only have one active home planet at a time.
I'm not sure what happens to old bases when you set a new home planet.
Every planet has a place where you can build a base

It says the old base can be broken down 'easily' to give you back the resources.

Pretty sure this part was done by Sony as they are the publisher and therefore are responsible with everything money related.

After the first trailer they could have made a Kickstarter and they would get millions with ease with the amount of hype surrounding it. Later release the game in early access, work on it for years and never finish it, and nobody would say a word.
