Is it a game worth letting Origin filthy up my computer?
Is it a game worth letting Origin filthy up my computer?
If you let steam filth up your computer, then origin isn't gonna be an issue [editline]27th March 2016[/editline]
i feel bad i never touched any of the medal of honor games before, yet i've played the living shit out of the first couple of ww2 call of duty games. is this one any good?
It was pretty amazing for its time imo but it aged pretty terribly
tbh, i found the client of origin more lightweight and responsive than steam's do you mean graphically or gameplay wise? because graphically i don't really care, dated graphics can't really put me off from playing an old game.
Just started playing it a few days ago for the first time and it's pretty fun. Graphically the game holds up fairly nice IMO, with some really nice looking effects for the time. The gameplay is also solid, my only concern being the fact that the squad commands feel kinda gimmicky and not terribly useful. Then again, I haven't played too much of it, so I might be wrong.
I'm playing on Realistic level, I can't get past the Pearl Harbour part when you're driving around in the torpedo boat shooting planes because I keep dying for no apparent reason.

The planes attack you. I have never played these games, but I chose realistic. The key to getting past that part is to spot the planes that will attack you just before they descend and shake your iron sight in small circle like patterns in the direction against their trajectory while holding down the left mouse button. I must mention that the game is localised and the swedish subtitles are hilariously bad at certain moments. The opening D-day part, when the landing craft get blown up, the words "Get out, NOW!" was translated to "Get out of the tracked vehicle*, they have targeted us." Not is that sentence way to long for someone to shout when there's a mortar incoming, but the landing crafts used in WWII is not even a tracked vehicle. *Tracked Vehicle is the best translation for the swedish word "Bandvagn".
It's aged much worse than AA but it's still a great game. Everyone grab this.

I plaid rising sun but never Pacific assault tho ive played allied assault and it's prolly my favorite of the series.
Is it a game worth letting Origin filthy up my computer?
Origin is not bad anymore. Has not been for a year or more.
Well PA is RS minus the fun and variety. You spend about 3 levels in the jungle killing people and then blowing some objective up then 2 levels on the beaches doing the same thing. Then the game ends.
this game has brilliant sound design, anyone into that kind of stuff absolutely needs to try this
Actually the Marines were in these in the first mission
Ok, I retract the statement of them not used in WWII. The ones in the opening scene of the game, however, is not tracked.
Should I even grab this?... I have the Medal of Honor 10th anniversery collection including this game.
Should I even grab this?... I have the Medal of Honor 10th anniversery collection including this game.
It's free
I remember the first time I experienced dying via that "man down" system or whatever it was called. Was just thinking "Oh I'll get revived or just bleed out". The a Japanese soldier comes up to my body and shoots me in the face. Just made me go "Woah.
all I remember from this game is spending like 3 hours on that FUCKING plane flying mission because I didn't know how to speed up so I fell massively behind the rest of the team and had to trudge along after them after every objective [editline]27th March 2016[/editline]
i feel bad i never touched any of the medal of honor games before, yet i've played the living shit out of the first couple of ww2 call of duty games. is this one any good?
allied assault, particularly the soundtrack, is a once in a lifetime sexual experience
Is it a game worth letting Origin filthy up my computer?
You're a few years behind the curve if you're still thinking like this.
Is it a game worth letting Origin filthy up my computer?
Lol, people are still talking shit about Origin? It makes Steam's client look like a steaming pile of shit.
just had a go at it, my god it has aged like ASS
Ok, I retract the statement of them not used in WWII. The ones in the opening scene of the game, however, is not tracked.
Yes they are, you see one pass by before you start getting shot at
This is a classic game. Is the graphics what has aged the worst?
IT would've been better if it was the Allied Assault War Chest.
i feel bad i never touched any of the medal of honor games before, yet i've played the living shit out of the first couple of ww2 call of duty games. is this one any good?
I think it's good enough to warrant a playthrough but I don't enjoy it as much today as I did when it was released. Allied Assault (+ expansion packs) is by FAR the best Medal of Honor games.
IT would've been better if it was the Allied Assault War Chest.
You could get Allied Assault War Chest for a dollar on the EA Humble Bundle some time ago.
This is a classic game. Is the graphics what has aged the worst?
Both the gameplay and the graphics are really dated today.
The multiplayer in this is pretty awesome if I remember correctly, totally worth it.
This was the only medal of honor game i never played, i bought it the day it was released cause i was a fanboy of the series back then, but sadly the damn thing never worked so i had to return it. Better late than never i s'pose.
I'd love for them to port over Frontline
For a 2004 game, I'm still impressed. Played through the first 5 missions this afternoon and it was extremely similar to World at War. Now I've got to watch Pearl Harbor.
Possibly in my opinion one of the worst older Medal of Honor games from a gameplay and level design view. However it's still worthing playing, especially if it's free. Just remember your AI squad mates are absolutely fucking useless compared to previous games in the series and the only useful one is the health dispenser until he runs out of heals.
