Ok, so I have this problem what happens when I'm in fullscreen game or video or something, when I try to change the volume, the game goes like Alt+Tab.
Then, the game usually freezes, it's really annoying when sound is too loud or too quiet, then change the volume, and start the game again, GMod is really annoying with those big loading times... (lots of mods :D)
Also, I searched this problem from Google, and found some solution that worked for some people I think, and I installed new keyboard driver for my computer, still doing the same thing.
I am purely annoyed X_X
EDIT: Oh and forgot, I change the volume from my keyboard volume buttons.
This is a normal thing to happen (but ennoying still)
To get bac k to full screen you can press alt+enter.
Did you even read the text?
Are you changing the volume through windows or through gmod?
Only 4 options I can suggest.
1. An application running in your background? I had this happen with RaUI, the UI for my net adapter. Then again, I'm running Windows 7.
2. Your Garrys Mod or game files have either a virus, bug, or unreadable file. Maybe one of your addons? Try removing some unneccesary addons, maybe start downloading SVN addons.
3. Your computer drivers are conflicting with your game. Try updating your drivers, reinstalling.
4. Run in windowed.
Hope this helps, Jerzy.
Also if you have your game resolution greatly different to your desktop it can cause conflict when you alt + tab in and out. This is because if your desktop is running at say 1920 x 1080 and your game is running in 800 x 600 (Lol), when you run in full screen then tab to desktop it has to scale every thing back up. This can put a lot of strain on your cpu if it's not quite up to scratch.
And the whole keyboard driver, sound changing thing sounds a bit wank. It just sounds like it is doing the job you would have to do when you do it manually as apposed to running in the background.
Amount of junk on your desktop will also slow you down a tad so clean up!. Run regular defrags and you should be good to go.
