Getting back to their roots by making a F2P MP only C&C game, mhmhmhmh
"This feels like a Command and Conquer classic! This feels like Command and Conquer: Generals!" lolwhut? Pretty certain a 2003 title wouldn't be a classic for a series that started in '95...? Would it...?
It seems like I'm one of the few who actually liked C&C 4, sure it was no C&C but it was still fun nonetheless.
They're working alongside the community and Louis Castle last I checked. Louis Castle is one of the founders of Westwood.
Getting back to their roots by making a F2P MP only C&C game, mhmhmhmh
After the outcry that there wasn't going to be single player, didn't they say there would be single player? Yup
Following the negative reaction from series fans that Command & Conquer would not have a single-player campaign, EA President Frank Gibeau thinks that a single-player storyline is still a possibility. "The beauty of free-to-play is that we can adjust and adapt to what we're hearing as opposed to, 'I'm sorry, it's two months from ship and it is what it is.' It's a very different model because you don't have to build as much. You build in response to your audience." It was later revealed that the game will have a single-player campaign.
It's a shame it's a F2P game though.

Generals isn't C&C. Fun RTS, but it isn't C&C.
proper C&C ended with the Firestorm expansion to Tiberian Sun as far as I'm concerned
I hate how the C&C series has fallen so far. I loved so many of them, but then once generals came out I all but completely lost interest When I think of C&C series, these are the three main songs that pop in my head.
No love for Red Alert 2: Yuris revenge? How dare you.
it was ~ok~ I feel like Red Alert should have just been its own series. Including it as an "alternate timeline" in the C&C universe is unnecessary and complicates things by creating three different universes, but that's just my opinion of course
No way, red alert 2 was my favourite of all the cnc games. Maybe tied with tiberian sun. Didnt mind generals, thought it was quite fun. Havent played 3 or 4 or red alert 3
Command and Conquer 3 was great.
i want to believe
I dunno man I don't think it'll be that bad as long as it's not like "rank up and get upgrades".
proper C&C ended with the Firestorm expansion to Tiberian Sun as far as I'm concerned
in my opinion, Tiberian Sun was a pile of horse shit, i didn't enjoy it at all, not talking about quality, but fun factor, i opened up a skirmish game vs an easy enemy, got some sweet defenses up, and was gonna start expanding out to find resources, my main power generator bloc was hit with a cluster missile and my conyard was captured by engineers in the first 30 min. I tend to turtle, and i don't think it fit my playstyle.
then you clearly aren't turtling right if you let your conyard get hit by undefended engineers haha [editline]10th May 2013[/editline] I mean, you're judging the game based on one skirmish match, c'mon man. plus, the real gold was in the campaign
2003 was 10 years ago.
It was. But when I hear of a classic game for a series, I think more of the originals of the series, and not in terms of how many years since release; I suppose. For me, Return to Castle Wolfenstein was an awesome game, but compared to rest of the series, even though a 2001 title, I don't feel it's a classic, compared to Wolfenstein 3D. To me, the CnC series' classics are Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert.
Command and Conquer 3 was great.
Was? I still play it!
C&C 3 was great up to the point it went herpdy derpy aliens whoooo I just want GDI and NOD
in my opinion, Tiberian Sun was a pile of horse shit, i didn't enjoy it at all, not talking about quality, but fun factor, i opened up a skirmish game vs an easy enemy, got some sweet defenses up, and was gonna start expanding out to find resources, my main power generator bloc was hit with a cluster missile and my conyard was captured by engineers in the first 30 min. Renegade 2 please?
yeah I fail to see how generals was a classic command and conquer game, especially when it was released as a spin off 8 years after the first game when the series was arguably past its prime game looks lovely though, I'll probably play it when it comes out because I loved generals [editline]11th May 2013[/editline] it's like they're still in the mindset of it being generals 2 but EA have probably done some research and said that making a sequel to a game released 10 years ago probably loses about 50 sales so 'you can't put it in, or indeed have sales at all, go f2p you cunts'
I think EA just wants some P2W games, is all.
I really want this game to be good but I don't think that's going to happen. I don't trust EA at all of the stock holders milking every game for as much cash as possible.
it was ~ok~ I feel like Red Alert should have just been its own series. The orginial games had such a great atmosphere which the new ones totally lack, I don't know if it's just nostalgia or anything but I prefer playing the older games. The music, asthethics and campaigns were more appealing to me, especially Tiberian Sun.

I like how they highlight their ability to patch and ballance a game because feedback doesn't take years now...
