By Media students I meant people who shoot films as part of their course and shit. That's me with some expensive equipment, Panasonic Xsomething, I forgot.
Yes but it's a high school class and it's really shitty. I got into some really really small film festival though.
Yes, me hello. I don't use the schools camera when filming though. I prefer my 7D. [editline]20th March 2011[/editline] I think we have a similar camera to what's in the OP though. Where do you live?
Israel. I've won a local competition with my first project which was a big Blair Witch inspiration movie, won best picture and acting awards.
Israel. I've won a local competition with my first project which was a big Blair Witch inspiration movie, won best picture and acting awards.
Awesome. Is there somewhere I can see it?
You won't get anything from the plot since it's in Hebrew - the hard thing was preparing this abandoned house to look the way it does with bunch of debris, blood and getting the sound right like stepping on the bottle and shit. Also, its pretty darn unprofessional so dont expect anything amazing. [editline]20th March 2011[/editline] My biggest problem is working with people - I just can't do that, that's why my current project which is inspired by Black Ops and the ''New Middle East'' shit going on right now is something I do solo and my expectations from the final results are serious.
Interactive design student at uni. We get to do some video and photography every now and again mainly because one of our lecturers is a photographer who loves films.
Communication and Multimedia Design student. I have shot small documentaries and small movies as part of a internet magazine, did a commercial about safety in traffic and some promotional videos for companies. It's great fun :)
yes I am. In Norway. Pretty cool
Yeah, its pre cool.
yes I am. In Norway. Pretty cool
yes i am one too i haaate photography though film is okay but i prefer to sit infront of a computer working with software all day being a lazy crepé
I was doing Creative Multimedia, but a lot of it was web design which I ended up hating so I dropped out.
yes i am one too i haaate photography though film is okay but i prefer to sit infront of a computer working with software all day being a lazy crepé
I love both, I usually combine my still photos with my projects.
im hoping to one day be involved in film [editline]26th March 2011[/editline] specifically writing/directing
I am. Norwegian media student, I have the option to shoot with a Sony HDR AX 2000E, but I prefer shooting movies with with my 5D mark II because I simply love shooting low aperture. I use an attatched Røde K2 microphone with a wind dampener when needed, but I generally go all dub. I also use the Sumo II kit for stable footage. I generally use 24-105mm f/4L and 100mm prime f/2.8 lenses with a few exceptions. I'd post an example but I'm only about half way though editing my newest project and I'd rather not post it before I'm done. [editline]26th March 2011[/editline] I love Photography, film and those visual/audible arts, however I despise journalism. [editline]26th March 2011[/editline] There's this one guy in my class who speaks my language perfectly, great actor, always has great ideas, always understands what I mean perfectly. Wonderful to work with. The rest are meh.
Some pics from my set :
Eventhough my is pretty broad, as in you can do webdesign, programming, I really like doing video. It is just a lot of fun directing a movie and making sure cameras are properly set up and actors are doing ok. I can see myself making a short movie later on and maybe work in that branch too
I'm starting work on an alternative short film, here's the extended synopsis: https://docs.google.com/document/pub?id=1xLLDU1s9XOdKf1SUwygRYElDnAklUaRfXZ-KS2w-4sk
[hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekHqFGMKVYc[/hd] Horror movie opening sequence we made. It's only supposed to be the opening title sequence, and not a full movie, which is why we didn't bother with an elaborate plot.
Note expression: "Less is more"
Larpar, good color, was it the editing or the lightining?

I think that the acting was pretty good for student level stuff! however I think that the choice of font / drop shadow looks pretty bad in comparison to the rest of the video. You have a largely professional looking clip, with text overlays that a 12 year old could have done :v:

I just finished a course at the New York Film Academy, right now I'm trying to get into a school for audio recording and mixing so I can get more into foley and post-production shit. Here's what I made for my final And since I'm already shamelessly whoring out my work, here's a music video I worked on in high school V:v:V I'm also working on editing (by working on I mean putting off) a "documentary" about my cousin who went through pretty much every concentration camp during WWII when he was a teenager. I hesitate to say documentary though because it's all one shot that's basically just him going over his life story with someone else, but because we only did one shot and it's not scripted, each time there's too much background noise I need to cut out parts, and we shot it in my grandpas house that has clocks that go off every 15 minutes. Long story short, don't let your grandpa organize a shoot.

I get that your cousin is telling a story but it might also be interested if you would walk with him and in the meanwhile he could talk about stuff.
Because he's a stubborn 80something year old guy. Originally I had a whole list of questions I got off doing an IAMA on reddit but he refused to even answer them because he wanted to start from the beginning and go to the end, and after realizing the clock issue and arguing with him for a good half hour I just didn't care anymore

My application to study Photography at Falmouth University College was unsuccessful. I just woke up and I've already had a really shit day.
We're having a media three day test right now. I'm supposed to write an article about photography as a job and take pictures for it so that it would fit in a magazine where it in total with the pictures would be 1-4 pages. I also have to sketch the design of the magazine article. This has little to do with making movies though.
