I wonder how much they were paid to say that
Well I hope the mods update to 1.8. There have been some improvements to say the least. Other than that, without mods, there really isn't much to do in the game.

I think you mean sexual favors, you know, with all that's going on.
Lots of good changes in this one, the 32 chunk render distance looks really nice, shame the game doesn't have a setting for allocating ram in the options menu (you have to set it in the launcher) but I guess that's a limitation of java

Then you allocate 'too much' and it shits itself

or you just allocate a reasonable amount (2gb) and be fine.
The new chunkloading is just so fucking fast. I can load a world in (literally) 2 seconds on 32chunks. Before it would take a few minutes.
Sometimes, I feel like I'm the only one who prefers Vanilla Minecraft compared to Modded Minecraft. I guess I just haven't gotten bored of the basic features.

My favourite flavour of minecraft was luacraft but the lack of a modding API is really making it hard for the team. I really like to be able to make small scripted changes by myself like making the game builder friendly in survival by removing creepers and endermen.

For me it takes much longer than before, Im talking upwards of 3 minutes.
I think the world generation customizer is pretty great. Renders good now, which couldn't be said for 1.3-1.7 really. rabbits are... not really worth bringing up. just a side thing really.
Ideally, I am seeing the back-end for a mod infrastructure come into fruition here. Let us all remember that they have pretty much been rewriting large parts of the game for the past year, to make it not a heaping pile of spaghetti code. Who knows really if a mod API will ever come out.
I don't know about anyone else but it doesn't bother me at all to run a modpack like feed the beast for a new, integrated game experience in the meantime.

Most bigger mods are barely reaching a stable 1.7.10. It's always a struggle.
A real mod API would probably make at least the porting to a newer MC version faster.
A Mod of the same size would have taken like a few weeks to make.. Not a dedicated team almost a year.

If I am not mistaken their is a game rule that prevents endermen and creepers from changing blocks,
I think it was doMobGriefing, I always set it to false because a creeper once corrupted my FTB world.
