As someone who played Star Wars Galaxies for 4 years: avoid this game like the plague. It's bad. REAL bad.
Where ? I dont see it
Eh, I'll wait for The Old Republic to come out.
This game isn't worth $1.
As someone who played Star Wars Galaxies for 4 years: avoid this game like the plague. It's bad. REAL bad.
Why did you play it for 4 years
I think he's referring to pre-combat update years.
I heard from a friend that people spent like 1 year just to become a jedi then they make it so you can start off as a jedi. And gave the people who spent that time trying to be a jedi some cape

I wanted to play it so badly too :(
Not worth a buy, however there is thankfully hope. www.swgemu.com is working on a pre-CU client without subscription fees and, best of all. Without the updates that destroyed the playerbase. (The main website is currently down for maintance so you'll have to register on the forums to view anything major, it's worth the time though as you can beta test this instant.)
Why did you play it for 4 years
Because SOE came in after those 4 years and destroyed the game.
Fuck you Sony, you're not getting a goddamn cent until your thick executives understand that they make shitty decisions and that is why you're having financial trouble in the online entertainment department of your company. http://suncrusher.net [editline]03:29PM[/editline] Also forgot to add, as a Pre-CU Jedi, they should go fuck themselves. Hard.
I think he's referring to pre-combat update years.
I tried to like the NGE, I really did. I gave it like 10 extra chances, but every time I try to get back into the game, the developers have screwed it up even worse than they did before. This is what I mean: It amazes me... it truly amazes me how much a developer can screw up one of the greatest licenses one can possible obtain.
What in the bloody Christ is that? How the hell did they turn possibly the greatest MMORPG ever made into the worst piece of shit ever made?
They dumbed it down for stupid people and made it so that you could be a Jedi right of the bat instead of having to actually work for it. The original community is all gone so now the only people who play it are little kids and morons.

Hell, people were so angry, they even refunded us the money we paid for Trials of Obi Wan because we didn't know they'd fuck up the game royally by surprise.

I never owned it but I played the free trial pre-bullshit and I played the trial post-bullshit. I was so fucking pissed when I found out that you could be a Jedi from the start and when I told my friend about it (he canceled his subscription before the bullshit updates to play WoW) even he got pissed off. This was one of the few MMO's at the time that really grabbed my attention and then I find out that they fucked it all up it just disappointed me.
I remember how good this game was when it first came out... I also remember how horribly it started to suck after the updates... Man i used to love it...
Just to give you an idea, to become a Jedi you had to become force sensitive which could take a few months, then you had to master four professions which were only hinted at and then you finally would become a Jedi initiate but if you used your lightsaber/force abilities in the view of anyone except your enemy and your allies, you'd gain notoriety which would flag you for PVP and if you died three times, your death was permanent. After doing all that, they go behind everyone and allow people to become Jedi at the start of the fucking game. There is a legitimate reason why people hate SOE and they still haven't recovered from this dickish move they pulled back in 2005.
My friends would always tell me cool shit about the game at school. I remember this one place they told me about that was like a bunker or something and it was guarded by a fuckton of robots and that the place was almost a constant war zone.
It sounds pretty good. I somehow even liked it after it got "Bad" So it must've been pretty damn good before the updates. Only thing that sounds downright awful is Perma-deaths. ALWAYS a no.
Well i got it, its 10 bucks ill give it a shot, the death troopers look rather interesting.
I tried to get back into it earlier this year and.. Ugh.
I played this back before they fucked it up. It was cool back then.
Well i got it, its 10 bucks ill give it a shot, the death troopers look rather interesting.
You just wasted $10. The old SWG was fucking great!

What they did was bullshit. [editline]05:35PM[/editline]
You just wasted $10. [editline]07:08AM[/editline] How in blue hell is it not a good idea!?
Right at the very bottom of the product page. It is mentioned nowhere else on the page. I bet a lot of people are going to be disappointed when they buy this not know it has a monthly cost. [editline]02:14PM[/editline] not knowing*
Above the buy button it says "A valid credit card is required for a monthly subscription fee." All games on steam that cost monthly say that.
