It's the last dance for Michael Jackson and your chance to see it begins now. Tickets for "This Is It" - the documentary that features footage from the pop icon's rehearsals for the 50-show series in London - go on sale Sunday. The film debuts simultaneously in 15 cities around the globe, including New York, Los Angeles, London and Berlin. "'This Is It' may go down as the greatest concert no one got a chance to see," the movie's director Kenny Ortega said. "But with this film we get a rare portrait of Michael as he prepares for his final curtain call." Tickets can be purchased at any major movie ticketing Web site, as well as at the flick's Web site: www.thisisit-movie.com. Only a limited number of ducats will be available, since the documentary will run for just two weeks, starting with its official kickoff Oct. 28. And even fewer tickets will be available to be purchased for the sneak previews showing in 15 select cities on Oct. 27. Some Jacko fans will be sitting in theaters at odd hours to accommodate the simultaneous showings. The film opens at 9 p.m. in Los Angeles, at midnight in New York and at 4 a.m. in London. "This Is It" culls the best of more than 100 hours of footage shot between April and June, while Jackson fine-tuned his skills for concert dates at London's 02 Arena. Jackson died on June 25, just three weeks before the start of his run of sold-out shows. Also coming on Oct. 12 is an unreleased Jackson song called "This Is It." All the Jackson brothers sang backup on the track.
Awesome. If it wasn't in certain areas only, I'd go. See his final concert, or, what it would've been. Who will star as Jackson?
Jackson died on June 25, just three weeks before the start of his run of sold-out shows.
Wow really I had no clue
Who will star as MJ?
If you read, you'd see it's footage of his rehearsals and such. Not an actual 'movie'.
Then isn't YouTube better anyway? I fail to see the point.
It's the concert without the concert.
wow its sad to think how much money will be made from this
I hope they limit how many tickets one person can buy.
I can't believe they are marketing his demise. It shocks me.
6 celebrities died within a week before and after my birthday.
6 celebrities died within a week before and after my birthday.
In other News, Neckbeard's house is raided by the FBI after the head of George Clooney is found in his mailbox.
Is it in 3-D?
Really? Millions have been made on a single man's death. Sad, western society is.
Is it in 3-D?
Parts of it are actually hur hur. I did however get mah tickets today.
I can't believe they are marketing his demise. It shocks me.
yeah fuck the millions of people that wanted to see MJs last performance i would imagine MJ would want us to be able to see his big finale, and the people who organized the tour have to pay for it somehow. [editline]12:38AM[/editline] i really hope they change their minds and release it on DVD, I don't think it's playing here
Meh, I have my ticket pre-ordered to see it, it doesn't really sound like they're trying to cash in on his death, hopefully this will pay off his debts and assist the family.
It's disgusting that people are making money off of Jackson in ways like these.
Hmmmm a celebrity died... how can we make more money off this?
It's disgusting that people are making money off of Jackson in ways like these.
It wouldn't have been allowed to go ahead without the approval of the Jackson estate.
I think it'll be good... it's weird but, I hated MJ until he died. I guess I'd never really given him a chance, I just jumped on the "pedo!" bandwagon. It's only now I've bothered to pay him any real attention and I gotta admit, the guy did seem pretty cool and genuine. The trailer for the movie is badass, it gave me goosebumps. He was an old man, but he's still got it!
They're only making this because he goddamn died. If he was still alive, they'd probably make a documentary about his history of child molestation. I never loved MJ, I still don't, and I never will. Him being dead doesn't change a damn thing.

The fans would have loved it but the haters would have kept hating.

I dunno if he was or not, I don't think he was but either way we shall never know. He did have alot of talent though and I wish I would have heard some of his music and followed his whole story while he was alive.
Promotions company need to cover their costs somehow, what they could do with rehearsal footage was probably part of the contract for the shows (that and it would be a shame to let what looks like a pretty amazing stage production go to waste)
Really? Millions have been made on a single man's death. Sad, western society is.
If you really think that only the west is like this...you're sadly, sadly mistaken.
I'm not trying to sound mean, but am I the only one who thinks it's not that sad he died? Yeah, it's not a joyful thing he died, but c'mon people get over it.
I'm interested, and will probably most likely and up seeing it.
When I read the title I was only thinking of the song "This is it!" How cliched. I must now cut myself.
I can't believe they are marketing his demise. It shocks me.
Why would this shock you?
